SpiffCoug"Effective halftime adjustments shuts down the Wildcats' offense and runs over their defense."
No panic from BYU. Just adjustments to take control and a score in a game that wasn't as close at it finished. Just keep winning.
"Completely flipped the script at halftime and made great adjustments"
Arizona has had this game circled all off-season, and players who have been around the program for a couple of years have been wanting revenge not only for last year, but the year before too. So they were pumped up and giving it their all. And we took it, and came through. What went right: After Arizona controlled 21.5 minutes of possession in the first half, the Cougars completely flipped the script. The defense allowed -2 rushing yards after halftime, stopped Arizona on a pivotal 4th down, and sacked Noah Fifita on consecutive plays late in the fourth quarter. Keanu Tanuvasa played like an All-Big 12 interior lineman. Room for improvement: Containing Fifita’s scrambles and underneath crossers on extended third downs during the opening two quarters. Defensive Co-MVP: Keanu Tanuvasa (blew up interior run blocking and anchored the second-half shutout) or Cade Uluave (set the tone with the first-quarter interception) or Akana with a couple really big sacks.
