Pick a nickname for Bryan Kariya

Bryan Kariya is so stellar, dependable, & studly! He deserves a respectable nickname from Cougar Corner - IMHO.

We call him the Hammer at my house. However, when he runs down hill it is really act II following act I (the fullback). Maybe Zed deserves the nickname.

I like Bryan the BEAST Kariya

No nickname we choose here will stop me from using the nickname "B-Kariya cha-cha-cha"

I just call him "Urroner Lite." :whistle:

North and South and The Kariyan were creative.



I was going to go with Iron Kariya or Downhill Kariya or Straight Ahead Kariya since Pizza is already taken.



Iron - since it is short and sweet is most likely to be screamed by the crowd after each play like Luuuuuuuuuke or Joooooooce



So now what are we gonna do for JJ - Scooter would be my choice for JJ shortened to scoot or scoots by the crowd.



Or have Bronco give them names - for real like his and his kids.



Some decent nicknames would bring this offense out of the doldrums. Look what "knives" did for the "Rolling Ball" on defense - except we have attributed that to three different guys by accident.

My new iPad2 does not seem to give me an option to send mags and I am on the road and away from my PC for another 10 days. I am staying at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis the next three days, but I didn't register as Cougarbib2.



If am authorizing the mods by this msg, to privately give you my name and / or email address and just request that you keep it private to protect my contacts at BYU who never tell me anything because I never ask. They probably wouldn't tell me much if I did ask, but because I do also have a source to a few star players on the team that is untraceable, I sometimes quote facts, and don't ever want anyone I know in the athletic department to come under suspicion or for the player who everyone probably knows I know to come under suspicion. I know Travis Uale's family quite well. I have never asked for information or been given any by his family or friends other than details of how he turned down a U schollie after his mission to walk on at BYU. I am related to a former BYU president by marriage and to an Athletic Dept executive by marriage and have a close family friend in the athletic department. None of them or their family and friends have ever told me anything. Otherwise, I would put my email address right here.



If the mods don't put you in touch with me, I will try to get access to a computer at this conference and use that to PM you.

PS - since I am name dropping here - this is my biggest claim to BYU fame



If you lived in Deseret Towers back in the day - I don't remember the exact date range - but Ty Detmer win over Miami was in the range - my mother may be your mother - so to speak.



My mother was the best head resident ever at BYU. Bless her heart. She went and had Shawn Bradley, who often hung outside there to play some hoops, sign a bunch of tiny scraps of paper so she could give that to her kids. She was a humble woman of humble means so getting him to sign a dozen basketballs never crossed her mind. She did same when she ran into Roger, Randy, and Robbie Reid in the Cannon Center. I have paid to renew her season tickets for extended family use for 20 plus years even though I can rarely get to Utah myself. She is a sweetheart and is still alive and well.



I think it might have been Richards Hall or something like that. I will ask. Certainly one or more of you came under her watchful and loving care. I will give one hint - She was left handed and about sixty back then. Ok that was two hints. We do not have the same last name because she remarried. Sister T. She loved all of her students.

How about we call KAriya "The Triple A-Threat"? Because the flashiest and most respectable thing about him is his ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN status. NO ther running back in the country qualifies. Which doesnt lessen his accomplishments on or off the field, but does speak volumes about the greatness of this kid.

I still wish we knew where he was for 3 games or why he wasnt effective/used. Heard some things about injury, but nothing definitive.
