Thought I'd scope out Utah State for next week...

...and it turns out, they look a lot like an episode of Hogan's Heroes!



(Edit: this was a dumb joke, sorry. The Utah local station that was supposed to carry the game suffered technical difficulties and have been showing episodes of Hogan's Heroes instead.)

USU 7 CSU 0; USU has 104 rushing yards just into the 2nd quarter. We better bring the D this game or they will run us into the ground. They put the hurt on Auburn and should have beaten them at their house. Our O will have to play oustanding and keep USU's offense on the sideline with long, grind it out series. If not, we can't keep up with their prolific offense.

It's really weird to hear the words prolific and offense in the same sentence when talking about Utah State. It's been a long time since they were considered better than a bottom dweller of bottom dwellers

It's been a weird half. I'm working on other stuff and only half paying attention, but it looked like CSU was totally inept and USU was playing well. Come halftime, it's 7-3.

I just hope that we leave this game with a definite answer as to who is the best QB in the state of Utah. I hope that it isn't Chuckie Keeton.

Utah state is a bad football team. CSU is a bad football team. Both of those teams are mediocre in mediocre conferences. I predict that BYU's offense has a "breakout" game and everyone calling for Heaps to be benched will either be silent or will be saying that he still only thrives against poor competition.

USU just lost by one point in overtime.

Hope your right. USU looked pretty good against Auburn. I watched that game & they should have won it. They had a Defense meltdown late in the 4th Qtr. I hope their Defense has the same meltdown against the Cougs!! I think USU will be up for BYU & it will be a hard fought game. Kinda like UCF. Physical.



Go Cougs!

The silver lining if USU beats us like Utah did, we can at least chant, "Overrated! Overrated!" as we stop them from scoring and going up by 4 touchdowns.

Let's hope BYU doesn't play badly enough that they need Utah St. to shoot themselves in the foot to win the game. They need to win decisively

I want to leave no doubt in mind after next week that the universe is back to normal, and USU sucks completely. I want BYU to win by 3+ TD's.

THIS is true. The latter specifically. The corollary is that if Heaps does not have a breakout performance, we will hear about USU being world beaters now, Heaps being a True Soph with no supporting cast and horrible coaching, and that his backups are worse and have no experience.



If Jake does get back to normal Vs USU and some cupcakes, we may only have a down TCU left on the schedule to even partially answer whether BYU should bet 2012 on Jake Heaps. We invested 2010. We invested the part of 2011 that really matters. We better figure out how to have more than one QB with real experience going into 2012.
