How many of you long for the days of 2003?

Remeber 2003? I do. We changed QB's more often then we changed our under garments and it showed. The reason I ask the question is because Heaps looks pretty bad right now. I still maintain that he is not playing as poorly as he did last year when everyone except him was being blamed for his own poor play. Anyway, back to the QB carousel. Do you guys want to see Heaps get benched, destroy any confidence he has left and then see Nelson, and Lark look worse? Who then do we turn to? Munns, who hasn't looked good at all since his mission? Really, do we want to panic and throw away this season completely just because we want to prove a point to the "primadonna"? Come on, give the kid a chance to improve. He happened to face, statistically, the best pass defense in all of college football last night, yes, he looked bad but I have a feeling that the offense is going to improve. I still think the reason that the offense is struggling and why we have so many miscues is because we are still breaking in a rookie ocoordinator.



The reason I was ready to put in a back up last year at this time is because Heaps had less experience in Robert Anae's offense then anyone, that is not the case this year. Everyone that watches practice says that Heaps is head and shoulders better then anyone else so I think that if he gets benched it would be a recipie for a disaster.

Wow. Same old arguments every time. Practice? I think we all agree that Heaps is far and away the best practice QB. When are we going to realize that some things are a sunk cost. Lark will do no worse than Heaps has been. I don't know if its statistically possible. The kid has started for about an entire season and hasn't produced. In fact, I think he has gotten worse.



You really think UCF is a dominant defense because they shut down an FCS and Boston College? They lost to FIU last week, and they got beat by us last night. They are not a great defense, I think it would be a complement to call them a good defense.



Does it do anything for a Kid's confidence to leave him out on the field to get booed by his own fans? To throw more and more interceptions and less touchdowns? Sounds like a huge confidence boost. The fact alone that argument is that it would ruin whats left of his mental game is an indicator. The kid is fragile, if benching kills him than he has no business being on the field in the first place. Everyone person needs to earn their chances on the field. Jake earned his chances in practice and has wasted them all on the field.

Your argument is that Lark could do no worse. Well, if/when he does, who then do we turn to. And how fun will 2011 be when we have another 2003? 2003 SUCKED it sucked because we looked at our bench and saw no one there, ended up with Jackson Brown in the utah game and got shut out (the second most embarrassing game in the ut/BYU rivalry in my lifetime). Just because you watch these kids on TV and rarely meet one of them in real life, doesn't mean that they aren't people. People have feelings, and if you keep yanking your guys because of performance, they are always thinking about getting yanked and not reacting like they should be. I remember in 2009 when loser BYU fans were calling for Max Hall's job because he threw a few int's in the first few games. People get after Bronco for saying in a press conference that fans are ignorant, I completely agree with him.

In the real world you have to produce. Are you saying we need to shelter the one guy in the game so he feels good about himself and his feelings? If I'm on a consulting Job and I don't deliver consistently I don't have a job before too long. I like Jake has a guy, I'm not going to make any sort of attack on his character. But he is not producing on the field. If lark is doing bad, than you can put Heaps back in because we would at least know he would be helping the team rather than holding it back.



I may be ignorant but sometimes so are the coaches. I know about football as much as the next guy. My girlfriend can see that Jake is not a good Quarterback right now. I really wish he was. I would have loved nothing more than a good game from his last night, and I would have settled for a decent game. But calling a fan ignorant because he wants his team to do well is silly, I disagree with Bronco's handling of the fans most of the time. Am I pharisee because I want this team to succeed? Am I a Sadducee because I want someone to do something (anything) to show me he deserves to be out there over other very talented players?

Remember 2000, when it took 2 injuries to find a starting QB buried at 3rd string? Or maybe 1992, when it took 2 injuries to find a starting QB buried at 3rd string?



While stats don't tell the whole story, the stats combined with Jake's form have shown me enough to want to see how other QBs do in games.

This isn't 2003. We're not rotating QBs like we were in 2003. A QB rotation right now wouldn't be a rotation; it would be a benching. We need to find a QB who can make plays and throw the ball effectively and efficiently.



I think in 2003, no QB was ever really given a chance to get settled. Heaps has had ample opportunity to get settled. I'm willing to give him one more half. But another half like what we've seen out of him in 6 of the 8 halves right now and I hope we see a new QB under center at the start of the second.
