Favorite moment of Friday night?

So BYU wins yesterday. It was a fun game. Defense was playing awesome as usual and delivered a ton of good hits and sacked a QB finally (I think it's the first "sack" on the year). Hoffman returns a kickoff which at BYU apparently is a once every other decade or so event. BYU had 2 rushing TDs, and forced turnovers at the all the right times.



So what was everyone's favorite part of the game?

Mine was Hague punishing the kicker on that kickoff that Hoffman returned. Or Hoffman's great blocking on the TD run by JJ, although Hoffman missed a block later that turned into a zero gain play. Had he made the block it goes for 7 easy yards, probably more.

The final gun and BYU was still ahead.

I liked the kick return by Hoffman and for some reason I just liked watching Mendenhall at FB get feisty. He had some great lead blocks, which we haven't had in a while from a FB. Missed a few, but I liked watching his energy. Kid came out to play.

Kariya dragging UCF guys for four yards from the LOS.

Hoffman's KO return. That is a huge development for this team. Sure, it was pretty much due to great blocking but it's telling about BYU as a program (and this season's talent level) that we only have capable athletes once every 10 years or so who can take one to the house.

Good thing it happened this year - I was beginning to wonder if it would occur at the second coming. Must be a sign of the times :-)

Disagree. I think it shows that Jake is aware of his mistakes, which he wasn't or at least wasn't acknowledging before, and it shows maturity and a real opportunity to improve. I don't see how it's hate to be glad that someone else recognizes their shortcomings and chooses to work on them.

He's not allowed to have his own opinion and be excited that our QB realizes he's got a long way to go even though we won? Wow, maybe you can tell him what color tie he should wear tomorrow and what to have for dinner, and then you can criticize him if he disagrees with you.

All I will say is that a post I put out earlier today that everyone seems to have ignored might have something to do with this. Just sayin.

2nd place had to be the booming punt muffed by UCF that for a moment was a BYU TD, taken back due to no advance rule, 15 yards for premature celebration, and moments later - BYU TD.

3rd was either Wild Cougar on 4th down for explosive gain or JJ going on about a 16 yard run to the house.

It was just a matter of time before the RBs and special team came out and played like they are capable. I am happy for them and they were instrumental in our win. Jake hasn't been called out yet by the coaches, and last night was the first time he noted that he played poorly. Monumental progression as all we hears until now was more execution and potential. Here's to hoping he takes his comment to heart and comes out blazing on Friday. If you are the big man on campus and like the adulation and glory that comes with it, you better be prepared to handle criticism. All of us, including the team and coaches, want to see us live us to the hype and start playing a full 4 quarters on both sides of the ball. No hate just recognition, anticipation and expectation.

Highlight of game, defense rising up and shutting down UCF to not only keep them from scoring TD but also missing field goal. Honorable mention, interception by Sampson on KVN tipped pass, KVN sack on Godfrey on third down, and Muehlman's sack of Godfrey to seal game. This was the same guy mired at TE with no where to go. Great story, great ending of the night.

Probably shouldn't hijack my own thread, but did anyone else feel that D was rotated a lot during the UCF game? SEemed like a lot of guys saw the field.
