Tight Ends

It may just be my perception or the poor second half offense in general, but we seem to have a lot of success early to our tight ends, then we never hear from them the rest of the game. Do you think this is mainly due to defensive scheming, our offense going away from the TE option, Heaps not looking for the TE or something else?

I don't have the statistics to back this observation up, but there seems to be a bias against throwing it not only to the tight ends, but really to any eligible receiver who isn't on the far left or right side of the field.

I believe it's a QB's aversion to looking at any receiver not wearing #11.

Somehow not really related but my wife, who is still learning the game, asked me why they call them tight ends as she didn't see any out there on the OL but plenty of large derrières.

I'd say that's about right. It's almost like they have TOO much chemistry
