BYU-Washington 2010 Replay

The game is on KBYtu right now. Heaps first game. He actually looks good and is looking off receivers and throwing down field. The look offs could be accidents. He even ran 10 yards for a near first down. Maybe that bruised ribs later in the season has made him more gun shy.

I've always wondered if the ribs issue last year had a psychological impact on Heaps' game this year.

My theory - he had to actually compete for playing time at that point, and since BYU had him and Nelson in a position to go - or so they thought - he was not coddled, and took risk and tried to make plays. Once he became the ONly Guy - either coaches or Heaps himself decided to go into no injury mode.
