Is UCF's long trip a factor?

"The Brigham Young Cougars will host the UCF Knights Friday night. This will mark the tenth time since 1986 BYU has hosted a team from the eastern United States. A direct flight from Orlando, Florida to Provo, Utah is roughly 1,875 miles and it takes approximately four hours. Playing at home has long been considered an advantage in sports. Is hosting a team that has traveled far an added bonus?"

I think traveling west is easier than traveling east. Travel shouldn't be a big factor. Also the game is played fairly early which would help UCF.



BYU just needs to hunker down and win this with hard clean play.

Hopefully altitude will factor in and favor BYU.

I don't think the plane ride will be a factor. I do think the altitude will be a factor in the 2nd Half. It would be nice if the plane ride affected UCF. I think the Cougs need every edge they can find! Ha-ha-ha-ha!

Vegas has us favored by 2-4 points. Usually 2 1/2 on most. I was surprised the oddsmakers still have confidence.

They must be expecting a rebound game. You know, you have to be very careful coming across against a wounded cougar. :evil:

Long trip, multiple time zones, short week. Those things do favor BYU. But will the offense have things figured out in time to take advantage of them?

Agreed. Traveling east is much harder than traveling west especially for non-morning people like me.



Living on the east coast, all of my domestic travel is westward and much much easier than when I lived on the west coast and had to travel east.
