UCF - Strengths and Weaknesses

Well balanced offensive team: 670 yards rushing and 612 passing yards.



Very talented QB Godfrey has buf time play making abilities and the offense revolves around him. He uses option elements and zone reads similar to UT QB Ash. They both can scramble out of the pocket. He has 6 rushing TDs, 468 yards passing and no interceptions.



Four players have over 100 yards rushing:



Godfrey

Ronnie Weaver, Sr. RB

Brynn Harvey, Jr. RB

Latavius Murray, Jr. RB



Receiving corps are led by:



Adam Nissley, TE - 9/140 yards

other 3 receivers: Quincy McDuffie-Jr.; Joshua Reese-Fr.; JJ Worton-Jr. Have combined for 303 yards on 21 receptions.



FIA blitzed the heck out of the team and stymied their offense. We could do well to learn from them.



Overall this is a very fast, balanced, athletic team that hasn't played the caliber of teams we have but does have an effective spread offense with a mobile QB. We need to execute to Avery high level on D as they will run bootleg and options to free up heir QB to run or pass.

According to Iliana Limon, blogger for Orlando Sentinel, the offense will try and establish the run against the Y. They have faces defenses with a lot if speed, and see our line as having good size and power but not bein that fast. I expect them to follow the UT playbook used in the second half.



The UCF defense will most likely focus on Heaps as the main threat on offense. If they can disrupt his rhythm in passing, and pressure his throws, they feel that they can beat us.

Offense: They have a running QB. I don't see any reason why we'll stop him if we couldn't stop Ash.



Defense: They are playing against BYU so all they have to do is watch Heaps' eyes and react.

Their safeties are nfl caliber according to that beat writer.

Don't believe everything you hear from beat writers. If beat writers were always correct, we would have been to four BCS bowls by now.



We MAY lose this game, but I wouldn't say we WILL lose this game. What WILL happen depends on how well the team executes the game plan. Not great execution so far, but things can change in a hurry in football.
