DwightYes, I said I would not be back to the board if BYU lost as it would be depressing. However, I went to the game and I am now really confused about what BYU is supposed to be on the field.
I thought Bronco loved players that did not shy away from contact. I saw Jake with opportunity to run for 1st downs and throw uncatchable passes instead. There was a moment when I concluded that I might care about the program more than Heaps does. I have hope for him to mature.
If Lark is a mature, competative player, shouldn't he be given an opportunity to show what he can do? I've heard he throws well and is a threat on his feet. Even if he didn't work out, wouldn't benching Heaps for a game or two help him mature? I have understood for a couple of years that Heaps has been a bit indulged and that his maturity has suffered as a result. I was kind of hoping that the coaches at BYU would help him grow up. I'd rather watch a guy get his butt kicked and go down swinging than what I saw on Saturday. With all of the guys that have stuck their neck out for the team (some literally breaking their neck), how is Heap's playing style tolerated by teamates and coaches? :skeptic:
