Had the MWC had the foresight to hire this guy, they'd already be a BCS conference and would include TCU, Utah, BYU, and BSU. He's not the devil, he's a damn smart business man that moved a floundering conference into the 21st century and beyond. It's not his fault that the presidents/schools of 3 of his conference are bigots that won't bring BYU in.

I thought you were going to put up a photo of DeLoss Dodds, the AD at Texas. As of today, the Big XII and superconference armageddon is basically in his hands, not Larry Scott's. Texas holds all the cards. If they give in to OU;s demands, the Big XII is saved.

If by stable you mean broken, then yes. The problems with college football run much deeper than Larry Scott. It's always been about the haves and have nots. Now people won't actually have to pretend that it's not. You are either in the 64 or 80 or you're not. If you're not, oh well.

Nebraska left the Big XII due to unequal revenue splits. Colorado left for the same reason. A&M pointed to the same thing. And now, so is OU. And who is behind the unequal split in the Big XII? Texas. Who has been unwilling to agree to share the pie? Texas. Who has made an even bigger grab for more than any other school in the nation? Texas. All Texas had to do was be willing to place nice in a conference context, and they will not, so they ran off 3 schools, and are about to implode their league, unless they compromise. Sorry, but Texas was caused this mess with their ego and greed.

Delaney wanted to get to 12 so he could have a conference championship game. This whole super conference mess is the direct result of Larry scott's actions last summer. He started the choo choo train that is going to pulverize cfb.

Delaney planted the seed for the superconference. Shortly after the Big 10 announced that they were officially exploring expansion in December 2009, it was leaked to the press that they were not only thinking about adding one team, but possibly going to 14 or even 16.



It was in that context that Scott was operating under when after Colorado already committed to leave, and Nebraska shortly thereafter, that the other Big 12 schools gave him a serious thought.



If you have a problem with the current environment, blame the Big 10. They started it.

I am not quoting this to single you out Lawboy, becasue others have expressed tis sentiment too. But what a short memory we have. How many sides of our mouth can we talk out of. We castigated Hair and the MWC as a devil becasue they would not give us a larger share in recognition of who it really was that filled the seats an ddrove the tv contract money. Really. We did. You can't have it both ways. ANd maybe that is what these superconferences are attempting to do - make sure everyone who does not bring enough to the table is excluded only, so the ydon't have to hear whining about u nequal revenue sharing.



And how many times have we said that a stipulation for BYU going to the Big or any other conference would be that we be able to keep our ESPN deal and our BYU TV rights. Texas has kept the Big 12 from imploding years ago by staying. They could have gone independent or hav eleft at any time they wanted as they could still do now.



Go back and check A&M, Colorado, Nebraska, and any of the other teams taht should choose to leave the Big 12, and in 5 years more than half of them will wish they had the good old days back aggain. Maybe all of them.



I am not trying to paint Texas as Saints. They are not. BYU isn't either. They act in their self interest. The problem everyone has is that Texas is the big kid on the block and has more power than just about anyone else except maybe Notre Dame. And, I said maybe.



All this whining about having to compete with Texas with less resources. Guess what - it should be clear by now,every school is cometing with every other school in this day an dage for recruits, and resources. They just are. And those with the big fan base of ardent supporters who watch tv an dtravel with their teams and fill stadiums - they have more power. They just do. So when A&M is sucking hind tt in the SEC, Texas will still have more resources and still out recruit A&M in Texas and probably anywhere because



Simply Put



Texas > Nebraska = Oklahoma quite a bit > A&M > anthing else in the Big 12 by far.
