Diagnosing the ailing offense

Great summary. These kids are very talented, but they have to learn to force the opposing defense all the way to the goal line.

Fair enough, but you miss the mark when you do not single out our O-line play this year. No running game = one dimensional, equal less time of possession equals inability to get TDs because we can not run it when we need to. Running is more vital in the red zone, and our line stinks this year. And the backs behind them do as well. Too many guys trying to hit a home run on every play instead of taking a single and try to turn it into a double.

When the program (players & coaches) make the kinds of statements they were going into, during and coming out of fall camp, it's tough to blame the fans for having unrealistic expectations.



BYU's coaches and players (and media machine -[i.e. Greg Wrubbel]) did plenty to build the hype surrounding this offense.

Agreed, not to mention when the running game is not going and the offense can't stay on the field the D is going to fatigue eventually (which is what I think happened last SAT.).
