Are the coaches on the same page

Jeff Call's 9/18/11 article indicates that Doman is now more blunt about the status of the run game:





"It's a great frustration. It's hard to be good when you're not running the football effectively. And we haven't been very good at it this year," Doman said, who added that the run game was a point of emphasis during the off-season. "I thought we were good at it, but we're not. The most important thing in the run game is who's carrying it. That's first. Then the second thing is the scheme. I'm not so sure either of them are right right now."



This week will indicate if the recognition translates into fixing the problem. Would hope Dupaix provides some valuable insight as the RB coach and Weber in the run blocking arena.



While we did show major improvement in passing yards and the emergence of Hoffman (8/138), we still have to get into the end zone. Let's hope Doman also recognizes that 3 TDs in 3 games merits some serious change as well.

Harper Anderson's article on KSL (9/19/11) reveals that Bronco sees glimpses of hope with the passing game but also admits that turnovers are negating any recent success.





"The lack of success we're having right now, just in terms of scoring points, today there were bits and pieces of throwing the ball more effectively than we have," said BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall. "The turnovers were, I think, the critical difference. That was the number one critical difference."



What I would like to see is a commitment to get the ball into the endzone. The last three games have 't shown that emphasis.



Here is to a week of improvement in reducing turnovers, and more efficient/effective scoring in the blue/red zone.
