We will see what we have this week with our staff

Our staff are pros, and I know that they have pride in their jobs. THey want to win, and I know they got embarrassed last night. So this next week will be a huge test to see if they recover this team, find an identity, and play with more heart and passion.



If we do not see it, this season will get 6-6 ugly again, which is a huge indictment upon BRonco, and his program. Chance for 9-3 at best now, and at this point, I'd consider it a good coaching job.



Bronco does need to sort it out fast. Starting 1-2 5 out of 7 years tells me he has a huge blind spot, and he needs help finding it. That is a major weakness of his program.

If we don't see it this week, 6-6 may be a very optimistic prognosis. If we lose to UCF and play like we have the so far this season, we could four more games this year.

I had posted a thread yesterday long now forgotten on this point. I agree. Do they heal the humiliation and keep this team together? Some of the best coaching can or does come now.

Trends of concern with Mendenhall's teams:



1. Early season struggles, often a result of the team imploding

2. Inexcusable, embarrassing losses that always appear to be a team that was outcoached

3. Almost always lagging behind in in-game adjustments, starting offensively, ending defensively.



However, in his defense, Mendenhall-lead teams have - thus far - always done something to right the ship, get bowl eligible, and taste success. I expect the same will happen now - particularly once we get to the ultra-soft portion of our schedule.

The problem is right now WE are the panzy team left on all of our opponents schedules.



The defense will be great in the first half against every team we play for the rest of the year. But they don't have the depth or talent to play as much as we've asked them to play against Utah and Texas, and right now we have 0 offensive capabilities. If we don't have an offense that can put a few points up on the board and go for more than 3 and out then the defense will poop out.

Yes, but this is the second verse of the same song sung last year when we had basically concluded we had a snowball's chance in Florida of making it to a bowl game. This pattern seems to occur every year, and each year the problem has been, in fact, coaching.



I disagree that we lack talent or depth.
