Heaps Sucks

Guys, he's just not good. He might be later in his career but thus far in his career and especially this year he's just not very good. This year he has been atrocious.

Maybe it is time to look to Lark or Nelson (although his PER is awful as well). Maybe Heaps needs to RS next season.

Heaps was pretty good for most of the game. He had a few bad mental errors. The throws were there, for the most part. He checked down, and avoided pressure pretty well.



This just isn't a very good team.

WHat was Jake's PER tonight? 137 or so?



His 2 fumbles shaped the game--in a bad way. Jake literally gave it away tonight. I really question his heart and mental toughness. Physical skills are nothing without the right mental skills. Jake lacks heart. IF thic keeps up, I want Lark, because our team is not behind Jake if this keeps up. THe D quit tonight, and that is proof of it.

Giving up 2 defensive TDs, and 2 others from turnovers inside your own 10 is atrocious. Add to it a fumble inside the Utes 10, and it adds to to an @$$ whooping.

Heaps did suck tonight, and so did the rest of BYU's team, coaches and all. No excuse for 7 turnovers. Absolutely none. If Jake needs to sit down to re-learn passion for the game then so be it. I'd rather see Lark in there than Riley though. I don't trust Riley at all either. I think right now, both Heaps and Nelson are bad, but more than that, the whole offense is just piss poor right now.

343 passing yards should be enough to win this game. Take away the turnovers, and add a running game, and this would be a different game.

I am stating: Jake Heaps is a talented QB - but lacks heart & grit. He is a primadonna woosy.



After the BYU thrashing mercifully ended I flipped to the Stanford vs. Arizona game & watched Andrew Luck. It was night & day between the 2 athletes. Andrew Luck was blitzed, hit, tackled, rushed & harassed. But - Luck stands & delivers under pressure - he takes it & delivers. Jake Heaps is a softie, a woosy, scared of being hit. He is physically talented & mentally soft. I like Jake - I just wish he wasn't a "puss-cake."

Utah's running on us @ the end of the game was humiliating. Norm Chow had sweet revenge for that drubbing we laid on him @ LES against UCLA.

7 turnovers is inexcusable. They were all mental. Jake's were horrific. The botch KR was the worst of all, which is saying something, The rest were trash. We quit. We lacked heart. We lacked grit. WE lacked juevos. And Jake deserves to get the Wynn treatment. Jake is soft.



And Bronco's lack of pressure on Wynn was horrific. Huge oversight. WE never adjusted at all. Our coaching staff is arrogant, not flexible, and gets exposed in half 2 every game. Terrible.

Take away that INT and add the yardage and you have 117.



I hate to nitpick, but the whole offensive side of the ball, and a few key players on the defense suck. To paint it as all Jake is missing the big picture.

Blown everything. BYU could have fielded the scout team and we might have seen better results.

Even if you do that, a 117 PER is unacceptable for a BYU starting QB. It's just plain bad. And 117 is still a level Heaps has eclipsed just FOUR times in his career. FOUR. He's had essentially 14 starts. That's just down right suckiness.

Sure it is. But we threw 50 times tonight! What did you expect throwing that much?



If there is one mismatch we have on offense versus the Utes defense, what would you say it is? Or the biggest anyways?



I would say speed and physicality of the dbacks versus our wideouts.



11 total rushing yards on 22 attempts. How in the hell did we think throwing that much was ever going to work?
