Are we really stuck in the Armed Forces Bowl

I keep hearing that no matter what our record, we are stuck in the armed forces bowl. Isn't it a real possiblity that in years where we go 10-2 or 11-1 that ESPN will step in much like last year with BSU and get us a matchup in another bowl?

I highly doubt that ESPN is going to leave BYU in the Armed Forces Bowl if we are 11-1 and ranked around the top 10. ESPN will work out a better match up. Either they will move us or work something out with Conference USA to bring an at large team in. Once we get 2 losses I would assume it is a lot less likely that we go to a different bowl game.

We will probably end up in the Armed Forces Bowl regardless of record now. My guess is the opponent may change, but that's about it.

All things considered, I do not see the real problem with this bowl. It is post-Christmas, which is better than the LV Bowl. Pays out about the same. And as long as we get a solid match-up, that is what matters most anyway.



At this point, I just want to beat Utah. We can worry about the bowl game later. If we go 9-3 or 8-4, this bowl will seem perfect.
