Looking for a RB--never mind a new safety.

Oh wait, its the same guy. Yep, If Uale was solid, they could bring Mike Hague back to start some power running. He might be a little undersized, but he would pack it on for this team.

Get Alisa in. Someone. JJ cant do it all. He can barely run out of the backfield. Hes great multipurpose. But to have an O built around him? No way. THis isnt about bashing JJ--Hes bringing his best. But with kariya and Q likely injured and certainly innefective, we need serious help.

Bronco mentioned it as his greatest concern with the Offense. No wonder Iona was such a loss.

Put in The Ansah!! Put The Poly Fridge in, Thats right, Mister Fangupo. Hey Ethynn showed some wheels in the Olemiss game, put him in there. If you want to run play-action, you gotta hava runna. No wonder our Offense is prone to stalling in the red zone, in at least one of the halves, etc.

We are thin at Fullback literally and figuratively. We do not have a bruising FB to lead block, run straight ahead, over and through people on occasion or catch the occasional pass out of the backfield. Manase Tonga for example. Fui Vakapuna for another. No problem you say with our seasoned and bruising tight ends blocking. We just don't and we don't have an NFL RB to succeed in spite of that lack.

We do not have a RB with blazing speed to test the corners. In this area, we usually don't. We certainly don't this year. Maybe Drew Pbillips. Oh- he didn't do his schoolwork.

So we have what we have minus an unfortunate season ending injury to Pritchard, and migraines for Juice, and vomiting for Kariya. Some of that should change and Juice and Kariya have already been announced to play Saturday. But, we are not going to have an incredible running attack until the weak defenses appear on the schedule.

Most years, we overcome these things with a seasoned QB and veteran receivers and precision passing and tremendous execution. This year we are trying to overcome it with inexperienced QB, receivers, and tight ends and a slew of new coaches.

Last year, we fired some coaches who couldn't get an even less experienced team with the very same RB and QBs so the new guys could perform magic.

Let's not kill anyone else quite yet. Patience is a virtue. It is going to take time and maybe a JC FB recruit next year.

My biggest concern in the running game right now is the fact that we've discovered that the guy who is supposed to become our marquee back gets impact induced migraines. That's not a health issue you want in your running back.

This and the Utes got our other supposed marquee back and apparently discovered why he was not able to outrun a cop, and made him 2nd or 3rd string.

If we have a marquee back in the stable, it is one we have not had on the field yet and won't see on the field this year. I am not sure we have an NFL caliber back on the roster or in the pipeline. Time could prove that we do - I will believe it when I see him running over and through people on the field early in the season against good defenses. We rarely have had NFL talent at RB and marginal when we do, so we should survive unless we keep playing BCS teams on the road - oops - I see a problem coming.

What we frequently have had are marginal NFL caliber fullbacks. It scares me that we do not have one of these now. Maybe we need to kiss up to some Polynesian recruits. Maybe Kahuku has one. I will watch for it this season.

We also always have talent and depth at Tight End. We might have some in the making - I can't tell yet.

We do have talented receivers. Jake will need to get them the ball. That is the only real way to get the ball in their hands as none of them are blazing SEC caliber end around / reverse guys. They are out jump the defender kind of guys that should be able to make a play even when closely covered if the ball comes precisely when and where it should come.

Really? Is that really a diagnosis?

If the issues continue with juice and BK I expect to see more and more alisa in the backfield. He's not a true full back. So I wouldn't be shocked to see him back there will holt, Wilson, or friel playing a little fb ala itula mili back in 96. I think that would be a viable option. Alisa isn't super fast but neither is BK.

The RB won't matter if the OL can't start getting a better push and creating holes for the RBs to run through.

"The most in the clear is RB Juice Quezada, who suffered what head trainer Kevin Morris called an "impact-induced migraine" during the game."
