OK. Let's get this started early. One good thing about the game yesterday is that it completely took my mind off Big 12, Armageddon, etc. And up until two minutes before half-time, I was ready to buy that season ticket on the bandwaggon. I guess the Church of the Undefeated Season will hybernate for a year - and we can just take things a week at a time.



This is Rivary Week. Our Rival is better than most of us, including "me" (that was for you DM Couger - the "me" part) thought and BYU is about like I expected, but not as strong as many of you thought coming into the season.



It is Utah Vs BYU at our house. No 2 fer 1s here. Home and Away and this one is Home.



BYU 17 Utah 16. You heard it here first - from The Bibster. BTW The Bibster is a TIC thing. ;)



My favorite quote so far going into this game came from Jake Heaps - "Pizza" For those of you too young to remember - The Brick Oven was famous when it was named "Heaps Pizza" back in the day. So I have taken the liberty of nicknaming Jake Heaps "Pizza". I guess if I can nickname myself "The Bibster" and call myself "BiB", I should try to help Jake get a nickname and it seems he does not have one yet. So, The Jakester is hereby dubbed "Pizza".



Back to the quote from Jake Heaps



"This rivalry game is just what this team needs to put the disappointment of yesterday behind us and move on to the rest of the season".

Accountability



Senior offensive tackle Matt Reynolds said the Cougars’ veteran offensive line has to share some of the blame for the inept running game through two weeks. The Cougars rank 113th in the country in rushing offense, 67.0 yards per game.



"Yeah, I think that is on the offense as a whole, but the majority of it does fall onto our shoulders. When we don’t run the ball well, we take that personally. That’s something that we have tried to take pride in. Unfortunately, we didn’t run the ball well last week, and the week before we didn’t run it as well as we wanted to. So that’s been a focus this week," Reynolds said.

I will give you that The spUties are better than we thought and we, quite frankly are worse--on offense. You called it Bibster.

"Pizza"??? Sounds like a short fat Italian kid. Kind of catchy. AND just snarky enough to denigrate Jake while hiding under the plausible deniability that you are not making fun of him. good one. Lets hope he is Pizza with extra sauce and pepperoni this week and not just cheese and dough. ;-)



ps. I like your prediction even though i hate another game like this with BYU-north (coaching staff reference).

Italians eat pizza without getting fat, but only if they are working hard. Pizza is a working mas favorite food. Working man - rather than elitist - would be a positive image for The Jakester to cultivate. Pizza, Juice, refrigerator, - fans love simple endearing names. I guess there was Jake the Snake back in the day - but he was a scrambler. Jake needs a nickname or people might start thinking he is a Heap of ....
