Where did all the girly crybabies come from?

Losing by 1 point to a ranked team, on the road, in a hostile environment, early in the season, isn't the end of the world. Get a grip. It is college football! If you are going to be a fan, you are going to have a few days like this every now and again. ;)

Schmoe, I always admire your posts...Exacly what is wrong with how we lost--stupid question I know--we did not give up, we did not even give up a big play. TX just got stronger and stronger and shut down more of oru offense than we could handle. No shame in losing this game. It hurts I know, but we did not have bad turnovers, played with very few penalties etc....I cannot point a finger and say ala Notre Dame, we gave that game away. Texas won this game; we did not lose it....I have no problems saying this loss hurts, it sure did for me, but (and I am not saying you have said so) I do not get the "fans" who start screaming that Heaps sucks or the RBs suck or Doman sucks, or that BYU athletics have failed them. Good grief people, if you want to only root for a winner, college football or college basketbal is NOT the sport for you. Did BYU play a perfect game? No, but that had a lot more to do with Texas than BYU shooting itself in the foot. We lost y'all...man up about it

Boise, here's my problems with the game yesterday.



#1 Only scoring 1 TD is a failure for this offense. Especially 2 weeks in a row (where are all those folks who said the biggets improvement happens between weeks 1 and 2? ;) )

#2 BYU had terrible turnovers that allowed Texas to score and run out the clock. I'm not sure what game you watched if you didn't notice the turnovers.

#3 BYU did not make an effort to score with nearly 2 minutes at the end of the first half.

#4 I feel like ND gave more fight than BYU did which is what bothered me the most. At least ND fought back and took the lead a couple times in the Michigan game. BYU took the lead and slowly and agonizingly let that slip away and instead of fighting for a bigger score BYU stopped executing and/or didn't stay aggressive enough on offense to keep the lead. That was one thing I'd hoped BYU had learned from last year. The whole second half felt like it was just a matter of time before Texas took that lead back. And they did.

#5 BYU defense had Texas right where BYU wanted them, and the offense couldn't capitalize. I'm more than willing to "man" up about it, and Texas did play a good game. Doesn't mean I have to be happy go lucky about it though.



Those who stated that "so and so sucks" or that "BYU has failed them" are probably in a much better mood today and it's sad that we are still talking about them. They probably wouldn't agree with their comments from last night if they re-read them.

Declo well stated. I quibble some: the one Heaps int on 3rd and long was as good as a fair catch punt The O is underwhelming to be sure. But what makes us think we had a top 25 O to start with I wonder

Well a top 25 offense I did not expect, but a BYU offense that scores more than 1 td a game I did expect.

I'll always cheer for BYU. I'm also not entirely upset with the fact that we lost. What upsets me is that I'm not so sure that Texas won the game so much as we gave the game to them. It was, as you point out, not nearly as disappointing as Notre Dame's let down, but nonetheless, it was disappointing in its own right. While Michigan out-schemed/out-smarted/"out-athleted" ND in the final quarter while Notre Dame imploded, Texas really didn't do any of those things to beat BYU. I give them full credit for finding a way to win, especially with their young team. But our offense just seems like it is continuously banging its head against a wall.



After hearing Doman, Heaps and Bronco talk about returning to the BYU football of old, airing it out, putting up huge numbers on offense, taking advantage of Riley's talents etc. it is just painful to watch our offense sputter down the field. It is hard to watch Jake check down on almost every single play, It is so utterly disappointing to only put up 1 offensive touchdown a game. It is difficult to watch draw plays on 3rd and 15 and it's frustrating to watch Jake still waiting for play calls to come in with 10 seconds on the play clock.



Texas adjusted their game plan. We just kept pounding our heads against the wall. And the fact that we so thoroughly dominated them on defense just makes our abysmal offensive showing hurt more.
