Passing game unbalanced

What's up with all the short yard passes?



Passing game was totally unbalanced. Not enough long balls.

2nd half our passes went to RBs, no WRs except for the bomb towards Apo at the end - where is hoffman at.

The game was lost in the first half, early second by never establishing the run. BYU tried to make up for the lack in run game with the short passes. Our offense was one dimensional and TX exploited that.

The run game would benefit from some more decisive running by JJ. He starts stuttering as soon as he gets the ball. HIT THE HOLE. If there is no hole, then at least move forward. He is a solid player but honestly, he looks like he is running in sand most of the time.

hard to tell without seeing the field but the coverages didn't look impossible to throw against.. can't figure out why they didn't stretch the field a bit more.



BYU has never been able to play smash mouth against top tier athletic defenses... and that won't change any time soon.

They need to change the primary receiver on these routes or Jake needs to quit throwing the check down. There was a play where we had trips to the short side of the field and apo split the seam beautifully about 15 yards down field and heaps threw the short 3 yard out. So either doman needs to change primary receivers or heaps needs to make more reads before throwing the check down.

All defenders have to do is... Read Jake' eyes. He stares at the WR he's throwing the second the ball is hiked -- totally giving it away.



Is he scared?
