Correct me if I'm wrong but none of these were on anyone elses radar and are all pretty much considered projects. I hope they do well but we are pulling in some top notch guards and we need some bigs that can play with them at a top level.
Neilson (6-10) was offered by Utah State.
Don't get me wrong, I wish nothing but the best for these 3 guys, but to say the three we are counting on for the future of our team, one of the three we beat out Utah State on doesn't impress me much. All three of these guys were two stars, ranked in the 80's in their year group for centers, in fact Neilson was the lowest at 88. I would hope we could draw in guys higher regarded than that. And yes I know Utah State usually has a decent team and makes it to the show but so have we in the past. I think we are ready to do more than just make it to the show. We need to step up now and be a common player in the sweet 16 and above. We can't compete at a national level without capable bigs and I don't see us anchoring our team on these guys. We need to be competing with Stanford, Texas, Butler, and teams like that for bigs, not kids who no one else wanted, or who's only other offer was Utah State.
