The photographer, Luke Hansen for the Daily Universe, says "I love shooting games on artificial turf. There are little black balls that spring up when feet are dragged that add this element of motion to photos."

And when you play in the rain the little rubber pellets stick to your skin.

20 years from now someone will figure out them little black pellet thingies cause cancer and they'll have to get rid of them. :-)

I guess thats not all that funny considering some have really suffered from Asbestos.

When I play soccer on turf those little black pellets stick to the ball and then fly off into my eyes when I kick/head the ball. Plus they get inside my shoes/boots. I'll take crappy grass over the best turf on the planet (photo ops not withstanding).
