Thoughts from the Ole Miss game

The offense did relatively well outside of the red zone. It was good to see the tight ends involved a little more. Holt made some nice grabs today. It seemed like we abandoned the run in the red zone. Didn't see Juice on the field all that much for some reason. Michael Alisa looked dang good when he got a chance to touch the ball, good combination of power and speed.



Not enough can be said about the defense. Pendleton and KVN were awesome. Eason seemed to get picked on and could have cost us big time had the receivers been able to make plays. Uale looked a lot better and made some good plays. Daniel Sorensen looked real good. Ogletree looked like he got hurt, any updates on him??

I thought Kaveinga was surprisingly quiet.

I thought Kaveinga was surprisingly quiet after forcing the fumble on Ole Miss' 2nd play of the game. ;)

You may be right there. Maybe he was overshadowed by the awesomeness of the rest of the linebacking crew

Anyone else feel like he got a little banged up on the forced fumble? Seemed to get up slow, maybe that was just the slow motion though.

I was impressed with Daniel Sorensen and of course the entire defense.



Just a thought after watching the replay of that INT returned for a TD. Heaps could have prevented a TD had he made an attempt to tackle... Nevertheless, I'll take a win over a loss anytime.

Oh yah! and of course that was against a mighty SEC team who we couldn't keep up with. :whistle: I was there and the defense was impressive, Ole Miss was big and fast but we handled them. One worry I had was we were getting beat on long routs to the end zone every time. They just didn't have a Q-back who could get it out there to their players.



I was also proud of the Cougar fans who filled our corner and made lots of noise!!! 8)

It turns my stomach to think of someone ducking on a 96 yard interception return and my first impression is to criticize, but if Jake gets hurt, our season takes a huge blow. He probably did exactly what he had been ordered to do in that situation. While I got nauseous watching it at the time :sick: , in hind sight (after seeing my Cougs come up with a W), it was the best thing so I will be getting off Jake's back about the latter 1/2 of that play and suggest everyone else might too.

Kaveinga--As for Uona, i didnt notice he was hurt, but maybe. Although, how many yards rushing did they have? how much success did Miss have running up the middle? The Dline shouldnt get all the credit--though they played great. But again, the single most identifiable strength from last year and OleMiss got how many yards rushing? Who was there their Best Player (Heaven rest his soul)?? Ya, Uona did his job great.

I forgot to mention that Falslev looked good in the slot and made some important catches. Also, Jacobsen looks a little thinner, less beefy, and a step quicker this year. Looks like Ogletree suffered a concussion. Hopefully he's asymptomatic before texas. Juice out with a migraine makes more sense as to why we didn't see him in the 2nd half

We had no dropped passes and out DL got a lot of tackles. Might be why Uona was relatively quiet.



Also we should have met at the game at the Cougar Corner. My next game will be at OSU. We should have invite OMIP too.
