Oregon State and McNeese State will now play on opening week next year. This was supposed to be the week Oregon State came to Provo. Wonder why BYU has not announced any schedule changes for this one yet??

We are scheduled to play Weber State week 2 and Utah week 3 next year, and PAC schools are not allowed to play us after week 3. So what does this mean?? Our best home game for 2012 just got dumped--or did it??

Smoke?

Maybe Oregon St is pre-empting getting dumped for a Big XII opponent in 2012.

If they are pre-empting, they must have solid reason to believe they need to.

Only other thing I can think of is if the Utah game goes week 1 and OSU to week 3. Otherwise, no clue why BYU cancels that one when it was the best home game for 2012. Unless Big Xii is going down.

PAC-12 school can play non-conf games after the third week, but they need to get clearance first.

It could be that simple--BYU, in trying to fill the late season schedule was successful in having Or.State get clearance to move the BYU game to October/November.

Or it could be that Oregon State wants to get to a BCS Bowl and figured out that playing tough games on the road OOC is not the right formula.

I would imagine that we could move Weber State if we needed to in order to make room. It would also be a blast to start out week 1 blasting Utah. I actually would like to see Weber State Week 1 for a tune-up, then blast a couple of PAC teams. But here is hoping that we are about to redo our entire schedule for 2012. Here is hoping.

If we just lost our best home game in 2012, I'll be pissed - especially looking at how crappy the rest of the home slate is right now.

And if we end up doing "1-n-done" with the freaking BEAVERS then I'll be even MORE pissed.

The Beavers could be pulling Nevada on us. You know--where they bail on their committment when we are good then try to reschedule when we have a down year.
