The Blind Side - Michael Oher

Hey - it is Ole Miss week. I can't believe no one brought up this movie in the Coach Nutt cheating discussion, although Ole Miss was vindicated in the NCAA investigation. I loved this movie. Things like this should happen more often. But who will protect the blind side of that new Ole Miss QB this weekend? It seems like they probably have that covered. I guess we get the Ansah Saturday as to how well they have covered it.

I've heard that a lot of this movie is bs. Basic story line is accurate though.



The cynic in me thinks that the ncaa investigator was dead on too.

It's gonna be a must see horror movie for Ole Miss fans everywhere this saturday. :evil:

I liked the book much better. The movie was a bit too treacly for my taste. Moneyball is another good book by the same author (about the Oakland A's). Hopefully the movie is good as well. Oh, and go Cougs, beat the Rebs!

Yep. +1. I also read a statement from Michael Oher - he didn't particularly like the way they presented him as "clueless" initially in the movie. He said he knew & understood a lot more about football than they represented. I would have to agree with Michael's assessment of himself. Who knows better?

It's a good story, he really loves that family and they truly love him. Michael comes and works out in Oxford during the offseason with other former Rebs. You will not find a nicer young man than him.



Bradley Sowell will be protecting the blind side this year, he will also be in the NFL soon.

So is Oher considered a BYU alumnus as well?

My Algebra 2 teacher in High SChool was Jill Freeze...Her husband is Hugh Freeze. This was before Oher went through his school. He was always a good coach. Our school played his school on occasion. We always killed their school because they were a smaller division school. The Freeze's were people of great integrity when I knew them. They were very active in the christian church they attended. The school he coached at in Memphis was a Christian school. Now that he is the head coach at ASU, she teaches at a small Christian school there in Jonesboro Arkansas. I share this just because it would surprise me if his going to Ole Miss was to intentionally get Oher to go there as well. He always spoke of Ole Miss. He liked the school. This was again well before Oher went through his school. I really think he just wanted a change from HS ball and an opportunity opened up...the timing of him and Oher is definitely suspect but the type of people the freeze family is I would be surprised if it was done by the freeze family to "cheat". The opportunity was just good for Hugh. It was also a good opportunity for Oher. I can't speak for Nutt because I don't know him but that is what I know of the Freeze's.
