CougarbibOle Miss in Peace has been a good sport. Hookem has come back - a totally class act again as in the past. Which of our other opponents will produce a classy visitor to update us on their team and share their perspective on our team, and college football in general?
I said CLASSY. That likely rules out the Utes whose classy fans are a very silent majority over-ruled by a very vocal minority. So who will it be? Remember, they have to put up with all the flames that may get thrown at them and remain classy like these two have done. Hookem has been my favorite of all time including his prior visits. Maybe there is a pattern. We are not conference rivals (yet anyways) and these are BCS teams that quite frankly play other teams as good as or better than us frequently - so we are not enemy #1 on their radar.
I would be tempted to go with TCU - but worry that our own BCS envy will result in extra flames such a visitor would need to endure and our recent record vs them creating more of the same reaction. I think TCU would produce a visitor that would start out classy but eventually lash back after a few attacks about their small fan base, head coach, and then those captions and look-alikes on top of that. Just sayin.
Oregon State would be a possibility - but our whippin of them may be fresh in their minds and we might throw it in their face a bit heavy.
UCF may be a bit chippy, like us. And not many on here will have much respectful to say about their team. Some jokes about teams with N, E, W, S, or Central in their names and how could they be expected to hold decorum. But then look what Ole MIss in Peace has had to endure in jabs and he has been a great sport.
OK - it ain't gonna be Utah State. You can imagine how some will unload on any of their fans that show up after they embarrassed us last year.
I suppose one of the teams we do not normally play might have minimal angst and enough humility to endure the fact that most of us will not take their team seriously - Idaho, Idaho State, New Mexico State, etc. I have to admit it, I am not totally sure which of these teams are coming in. I hope I got it right. But I promise to take them seriously when their game is next on the schedule. And, I am actually really glad we are playing these teams. I just wish we had our road games at home and our home games on the road this year.
Hey I almost forgot Hawaii. Now that BSU has become their arch rival maybe they forgot how much they hate us. Nah. I guess I will post some stuff as a resident of Hawaii that likes their team if that counts, but would the Aloha spirit last from a true Warrior or Bow or whatever they decide to call themselves?
Then some of these teams may not even have any fans.
I do not hold out much hope - but it will be either Oregon State, TCU, or Hawaii considering teams that have a decent chance to beat us. I am going to go with the mighty Beavers on this one. Any of the teams except USU that have no prayer might produce a winner. Who do you think will have the classiest fan show up as a visitor?
