That works. We are down 16 in the second half but we were down 21.

Didn't see the game, but read the recap. We got spanked by the Greek national team (84 - 54), which is ranked 7th in the world. I would expect a loss against such a team, but 30 points is a bit much. Game was close in the first few min and that was it.



Abouo tore it up with 16 points and 15 rebounds! Guy is a stud and needs the ball in his hands. Rogers drained some three-pointers and that was pretty much our offense. Noah (flu) was basically a no-show. Boy do I miss Davies.



Without a prolific scorer on the team we need at least 3 guys averaging roughly 15 points a game. Davies, I am confident can pull that off. Abouo possibly can, but he can be inconsistent. Rogers is even more inconsistent, and I'm not convinced Noah has it in him. Hopefully Carlino and Harrison can step up, but 10+ points a game from freshman is asking a lot.

I watched the second half and we had serious problems with Greece's size. They had at least one 7 footer and other 6'9" players on the floor at the same time. We had more trouble once Hartsock got into foul trouble.



Harrison was very athletic and skilled looking. He also looked really wild and seemed to be rushing his shots. He looks like a big time talent. Rodgers made some nice plays. Abouo looked like the only BYU player that wasn't bothered by the physical play of Greece. Many of Abouo rebounds were of his own shot that blocked repeatedly.



Martineu and Cusik looked overwhelmed at the point. They were capable of making the D play with a drive or a shot. Zylstra looks okay doing role player stuff. If he ever tried more his lost the ball.



44 and 20- I don't know their names looks physically capable of playing and defending at the level of this game.



I guess 44 is Sharp.



Hartsock looked very much like last year.

Davies would have made a world of difference in this game.

Without a big man, we played zone today, and the rotations were consistently a step too late (like the game at New Mexico this year).



In his defense, Hartsock has had the flu for the past three days, according to Wrubell.

We are a much different team with Davies in the middle. Hartsock is well Hartsock, we've seen his play the last couple years and he's solid but unspectacular

Have you watched the NBA since 2001????? Zone defenses are allowed in the NBA with the lone caveat that you can't have an "unguarded defender" in the lane or you get rung up with a 3-second violation. Granted teams don't use it as much as Euroleague teams because the NBA puts such a high premium on getting rebounds and not giving up the easy three, but the NBA rules vs. the international rules wouldn't make that much of a difference IMHO.

We were dominated by their big men in all facets of the game - but especially the way they pass and rotate to find the open man. Very unselfish team and loved their fundamentals - stopping dribble penetration, arms up on the shot for defense, looking for the open man underneath on swing pass and off of long rebounds. We could learn a lot from this team - especially staying away from the one shot gun and one-on-one individual play. Their roster has 2 seven rooters, several 6-11/6-10/6-9 front court and athletic 6-8 through 6-6 wings. All shoot FT well and are generally great within 15 feet. I wish we could play more of these teams to learn how to play team ball.
