Ryker Mathews progressing

Heard on 1280thezone a report from camp that Ryker was competing for a starting spot at Left Guard. Hans indicated his footwork is atyppically good for a true frosh. He looks very good. This is great for depth! More great news.

Very impressive. A true Freshman competing for a starting spot @ Left Tackle - w/ a team that has a very good returning "O" Line. Impressive. Ryker has skills & I am very excited to watch him play. As usual - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for NO injuries!

Apparently the Left Guard position is still undecided according to Brett Richins on Deep Shades of Blue. so, either the experienced guys arent getting it done or Ryker is making a huge impression. At any rate, its great to have depth.

He is in the top 6 linemen with 5 starters. He will play this year. The question is how much.

Looks like it will be Reynolds getting the nod at the Left Guard spot.
