Jake Heaps threw a hundred yard touchdown pass to Ross Apo. :crazy:

Two things stand out. one is that four of our players have groin issues?!! So is the groin the new hamstring for us?



also sorenson was kept out by howell not for injury reasons. hope that is not serious.

I like to see our guys playing with intensity, but they also need to learn to keep their heads. When we play the SNOT, cooler heads will prevail.

Sounds like Sept 3rd can't come soon enough. The team appears to be light years ahead of where they were last year at this point. Hopefully that translates well.

So we are now calling him Uncle Jake, instead of St. Jake? That would be throwing a football over "them mountains".

It was a very spirited practice. I can't remember which receiver didn't like how Sampson had covered him and gave him a push, which resulted in a push back. What I like was that as the receiver turned back around to head back to the offensive side, Pendleton was there and gave him a shot in the shoulder communicating, you mess with one of the D, you get them all. The crowd reacted with applause.



As I'm watching the practice I hear this kids voice to someone two chairs over from me and I look up and Jimmer's sitting there. I felt sorry for him because it's non-stop autographs from mostly kids, but some adults too. You had to laugh when an adult would bring up their 2 year old and say they he wanted an autograph. Right. The kid couldn't even talk! They'd look at Fredette and almost freak out not knowing who they were being pushed toward. Some adult male came up and bent down to Jimmer and asked him to sign the back of his Jimmer Kings jersey the guy was wearing. Interesting. A 14 year old boy had Jimmer sign the skin on his arm. I'm sure the kid's mother is going to have trouble to get him to wash that off. Some girl about 11-12 had him sign her shirt while she was wearing it across her abdomen. I'm sorry, but come on!



I was more curious as to who the one young man that was with him on his right. I was hoping it was some recruit, but as I didn't even see him come up and sit that close to me I don't know if the young man was there before. It just seemed like Jimmer spoke with him extensively and someone on his left that it was mentioned that he was around 40 and had played FB himself.

Bronco feels that he team is where he would like them to be at this point. If they can continue to progress and focus on the mental part, get through the grind, this will be a very good team. By next Wednesday, they will start preparing for Ole Miss. The open practice sessions will now be closed so that they can work on special packages and not reveal schemes to any other team's spies.
