As much as I dislike seeing bad offensive stats I like hearing that the D shut them down today.



And is Ziggy 8/8 on sacks now?! :bug:

Per reports, Bronco has finally unleashed his D in terms of scheme and blitzes. BYU has run some pretty base stuff up to this point, but Bronco threw some wrinkles at them today. Based upon that, it sounds as if he battle is just starting and it will only help our O improve, and our D will get better practice reports.



Jake 1 series and Lark and Riley had 2 each. Also, Lark got reps with he 2's today, Nelson the 3's, so it sounds like the evaluation of both is taking place right now. Neither had a great day.

Poor Doman, for some reason I've got an image of him being all proud of his offense's preformance the first week and giving Bronco a smug smile. Bronco's response is a skirm before he really unleashes his defense leaving Doman humbled and driven to do better. lol

I thought Heaps had two series and Nelson only got the one?

I am pretty sure that Doman knows what a vanilla defense looks like and wasn't being smug around Bronco. If anything, they had discussed it and decided that it was time to show the offense more looks on D hoping they would respond to it. I have been slightly worried about the D up until today. Happy to know that the offense getting over on the D up until now was just Bronco not actually releasing the dogs of war.

Although the D stymied the O today, Bronco said that so far, they have been dead even and it will remain that way. The reason the O may have shined on Sat. Is because the S was running basic and simplistic sets in order to evaluate more personnel and scheme evaluations. In any case, with the D going up against such talented personnel and vice versa, they are both going to be well prepared for the season and will get better with time.

Heard on 1280TheZone from Hans Olsen, that Bronco's fall camp D never goes beyond what the D backfield is ready to do. Hans saw this as very positive bc the D backfield is increasing in experience and could handle the blitz packages being installed from a scheme mastery standpoint but also improved coverage, so that more risks could be taken.

Hans also said Mike Hague played alot with the 1's today. he said Uale was a little dinged up, but that hague and Sorenson made a great team.

I'm excited about hague, and will be really disappointing if Uale doesn't hold a public press conference and shower down praises on Hague's head if in fact Hague holds onto the starter position. I mean, it's what any team player would do :P

Not sure where you got your info but it's nice to see Pikula making strides at BLB. With his talent he could easily move up the depth chart as the season progresses. I mean is Hadley that good anyways??
