Sounds like had a light practice day. Each QB had 1 series, except Heaps who had 2. The last of which was a "Blue Zone" series. 6 total passes in 4 series for all QBs. Sounds as if running was the order of the day, along with passes to the TE's. Lark kept up his stellar play, and Riley finally posted a really good day. Per accounts, Heaps struggled today in the team sessions, but reports also indicate that the D threw up some new looks as well today.

I am glad that the 1st team D stepped up today against the 1st team O. I like back and forth between those units. Glad to see the 1st team D get their first dominant day. It was needed.

With start of double sessions tomorrow, should see a faster pace as well.

Tough day for Heaps, after having done so well. Sounds like he was really close to having a 2nd pick too, but luckily for him it was dropped.

This is unacceptable. Lark should start. ;)

If it happens another 3-4 days in a row, I am sure that chatter will start.

What Law Boy alluded to for both D and O is that the coaches are continuing to try new looks which can be confusing at first glance. What we may be seeing down the road is a chess match to see if a new look will lead to confusion or if proper adjustments will NE made on the spot. In any case, it is leading to learning experiences and growth.

If you check out MS FB web page. No QB has stood out yet and things are not settled. This means that their D players are going to be in for one big surprise when they face Doman's multiple set offense.

No, Tanner Mangum should start. That kid is incredible!

In all seriousness, I was wondering when Jake would have an off day. I was starting to think he was superman.

Wrubell has some additional thoughts on today's practice:

Marcus Matthews is playing more at slot receiver than TE. He is making nice catches and appears to be recovering well from his shoulder injury.

Mike Hague/FS continues to make plays and is giving Uale all he can handle for competition. He is smaller than Travis and has less knowledge of the position but is catching up quickly and his athleticism and ability to learn quickly is what is helping him gain ground fast.

JJ is really shining on run-play action series - gets through holes quickly for big gains.

Hoffman has amazing athletic ability and made a super grab to grab TD in back corner of endzone.

And Aaron Rodgers just this past week.

It's really ok that the offense struggled a little bit today. I would have kind of been worried that the defense had no pride if they were to get beaten 5 days in a row.

Wrubbel provides a nice summary of activities today and the depth chart. KVN, Pendleton, Kaveinga and Ogletree at starting LBs. That is one talented and crazy group of athletes.

Nice to see some improvement at FB with Alisa and Iona Pritchard. Hopefully Alisa can gain enough weight to be effective. Could be pretty awesome. Bronco compared Pritchard to Manase Tonga so that's pretty sweet

I don't think our D will be confused. We got a offense that runs a little of everything. Spread, one back sets, I, Wild Rebel, spread option, and more. Plus we usually do good against heavy passing teams, spread option KILLS us!

Also no QB has stood out but they have all done fairly well. I'll post the practice report from yesterday. All we need is someone to take care of the ball and make a few throws. We have a stable of RB's and our freshmen Wr's have already cracked the rotation.
