Fall Camp - Day 3

Heaps: 4-for-5 for 98 yards, including 70-yard TD bomb to Ross Apo

Riley Nelson: 0-for-2, including pass intercepted by DL Hebron Fangupo

James Lark: 2-for-3 for 27 yards, including nice 20-yard leaping catch by Dalin Cutler (2nd TD this camp)



Sacks recorded: Ezekiel Ansah, Travis Tuiloma and Alani Fua



NTs Jordan Richardson and Romney Fuga back in action for 1st time - both looked good

LG (1st team) manned by Houston Reynolds

1st team Safeties: Mike Hague (FS) and Carter Mees (SS) saw lots of time

really happy to see both richardson and fuga playing in scrimmage today.

That's 2 days in a row that Riley has gone oh-fer. Also the second day in a row that he has thrown a pick. I'm wondering what happened to him after spring ball. He looked good in the Blue White game.

Bronco, on Heaps-Apo TD:"Coverage was exceptional. Long, long pass, right in stride...that'll be a combination we see for a long time here."

Heaps' second series was a one-play wonder, with the sophomore signal-caller throwing a 70- yard touchdown strike to Ross Apo down the right sideline. The ball was in the air for 50-60 of those yards, and I have never seen a prettier ball thrown. Apo hauled in the perfect spiral in stride and waltzed in for six. One of the very first players into the end zone to celebrate was RT Braden Brown--that's some hustle.

Sounding good. Sounding very, very good.

If Ezekiel Ansah keeps on getting a sack every scrimmage I don't see how they are going to keep him off the field.

Also according to Cougar Tracks, Nelson's INT was waived off as a whistle sack, but if it stood, Fangupo got the pick and took it in for 6.

Wow, I'm really excited to see Apo, Hoffman, and Jacobson all out there. If our tight ends pick it up, we should be unstoppable on offense.

Secondary is shaping up as well.



Eason (FC) and Hadley (BC) are first stringers.

Buckner, Johnson and Comer back up Eason.

Sampson, Everett and PoVey back up Hadley.



Sorenson still has edge at KAT with Mees and Galea'i as back ups.

Looks like athletic FS Hague may beat out incumbent Uale although they are presently neck and neck.

I'd like to see Sampson backing up Sorenson as well. They should cross train him at BC and KAT

Speaking of the secondary shaping up, who got beat for the 70 yard bomb and which safety did not make it over?

I think I read it was Eason that got beat and that Bronco said he was "well covered". No clue on which safety.

yeah, i heard that the D was all over the Apo, it was just an exceptional pass and catch. Exactly the type of thing you want to hear from the D and the O.
