The Role for Ezekiel Ansah

“Ziggy will play for us in nickel situation rushing the passer, this year,” Mendenhall said. “We kind of go step-by-step, and that’s a good place for him to start.”



Coach Poppinga also stated that Ansah has an NFL body with incredible athletic skills that could translate into serious playing time next year if he continues to improve the way he has. It will be tough for OL to handle 6-6/265/4.5 with 91 inch wingspan. Look to see him on kickoff coverage as well.

Every pic I see of him suited up. He's always in some extreme athletic pose.



He's a freak of nature AND I cannot wait to see him at his best. He will have a bright future if he continues improving.

He's a human missile! Launch him at the QB any chance you get!



Also, could we use him as a gunner on punt coverage? I pity da foo dat don't call fair catch!

I believe that he has had a sack every day of camp so far.

Actually, I'd love to see that camera on Whit and Chow, because those guys would full on crap themselves if Wynn got knocked out. Utah's season rides on his health.

A split screen shot of the ziggy hit and the simultaneous reaction of whitt & chow would be ideal.

I wonder if next year he could possibly become an every down player at OLB if he continues to improve??

Watch on kickoffs. Despite being like 1000 pounds he is always the first player down field.

Sounds like from Pop, thats the plan. It really seems like he would be better suited in a 4-3 defense as a true DE--and thats how he'll be used this year. which helps partially fill the loss of Putnam. Mentally, hes got to get the game. if he's a missile, he can easily be drawn into screen situations and throw right over the top of him; or CHOW's favorite play--that I really started to hate while he was here: DRaw trap.

Ansah as a missile projection at Utah QB = Wynn, Wynn situation for the Y :-)



When Ansah masters his position look for him to play as a DE or rushing OLB - kid has incredible skills just needs to learn the mental part.



BTW Rob Morris is providing guidance to LB this year. What a priceless gift that is to the team. A Superbowl ring and lots of knowledge to pass on. Hopefully Ziggy is listening.

I think that's a great idea! He could come in and play either an end in a 4-3 or step back and be a lb in a 3-4. I hope they try it to see if it works.

I believe that's what Bryson was doing last year as well. It would be awesome to see them both used that way: 3-4/4-3 hybird DE/OLB
