Munns

He was a big QB recruit as few years ago and has been back from his mission over a year now. Haven't heard any news from him in camp yet. Anyone know how he's doing. We need him as a backup behind Heaps while we wait for Hill/Kuresa/Mangum, so i hope he doesn't transfer.

I feel for this guy. In a very tough situation. I guess if he wants to get his education from BYU, its a pretty good thing. He would not be used as a transition ot these other kids. I havent heard anything out of camp on him either. Maybe hes transfering/transfered.

We don't need him as much as you think given the fact that riley is decent and lark seems to be coming on strong. But he does need to progress because tahsin hill may be rusty off his mission and munns may have a chance to play if heaps left early.

Munns is definitely our weakest qb, I have seen him throw a number of times and have never been impressed with his foot work or throwing motion. He has the physical look of a great qb but it doesn't surprise me we haven't heard anything from him. I think he is a career 3rd or 4th string guy.

He hurt his knee his freshman year and then left on his mission. May still be an issue.

It is curious we have not heard much about him this Fall.



I do know that he came home from his mission heavy late last summer and did not have time to do a lot of conditioning. I think he had dropped some by seasons end, and more during Spring, but do not know where he is physically as of now. It sounds as if Heaps, Riley and lark are all in amazing shape, with Lark being a workout freak. Safe to say he is #4.

Ouch. That kind of hurts. Hawk, why are you such a Munns hater? ;-)

Munns is a monster of a QB, physically, but just doesn't seem to have 'it.' I don't know if he lost it when he got injured, if being away from the game has last it for him, or if he just never had it. Lark definitely looked better than him last year (And Nelson did, too, obviously) and hearing about Lark's improvements, I'd say it's no surprise that we haven't heard much about Munns this year.

Jason got 1 rep in practice day, per reports, but had no pass attempts.



At the rate things are going, he might be battling Riley for the #3 spot by the end of Fall camp.

He won't be battling anyone for any spot, our other three QBs are head and shoulders above him (ironically, since he's a head taller than all of them).

He was a 4 star recruit out of the Tri-cities, WA. But that was back in High School.

We currently have three 4-star recruits at QB. Obviously Heaps, but so were Lark and Munns. Lark may have been down graded when he committed to BYU, but I know he was a 4-star at one point.
