Hinds to BYU!!!!!!

Sweet get by BYU. He is supposed to be meeting Bronco at noon today to make it official.



Sounds as if he will serve a mission first as well, so will be a few years before we see him in Cougar Blue.

Just saw the press release. Yes!!!!!! Indepence is paying off.

This commit bolsters our commitment to have a high pressure defense and a DE at that. Let's get AChing and Fanaika.

Ah Ching doesn't even have an offer and is not coming to BYU.



Fanaika is rumored to possibly commit today as well. He was at Saturday's practice.

Hinds get is huge for BYU. Pac-12 is great, but for most of Bronco's targets, it'll be about the school you are and not schools you're with.

I've been thinking this and saying this for months to my Ute "buddies." Recruits are realizing they aren't getting a Stanford education and playing a PAC-12 schedule isn't that big of an advantage compared to the teams/locations BYU has lined up and will have lined up. When all is said and done they are getting a Utah education in a Utah environment and playing in a smaller stadium with less exposure than BYU. Pros do not outweigh the cons, imho.

So far, BYU is wining the head to head battles for kids--per usual. And I think BYU will always win more head-to-head with Utah for LDS kids, unless we start stinking, which I do not see happening under BM. But I also think Utah gets a bump recruiting kids we do not go after that will help them. We all put much emphasis on Hinds and Fanaika type because we need those kids more--in-state and LDS--because our recruiting pool is smaller. These are the kids that BYU has lost recently--but not to Utah. To Stanford or Notre Dame, etc. beating them for the elite Utah recruits is big for us.

I was thinking the same thing Jedi. I personally try to refrain from referring to Bronco as BM, because I think too much of Bronco to refer to him as that. We could refer to Crowton or Benedict Whittingham as BM and that would be fine with me. Hinds, huge get!!!!

Brandon Gurney from TBS/Des News is reporting that Dylan Collie and Butch Pau'u couldn't have worked on him any more than they did. You have to love those that take the leadership initiative and work to help the team bring on the best players that they can.

I am quite certain that he does not have an offer and that byu has soured on him. He is not panning out like they thought he would. i know that rivals and scout show byu having offered but i think they are relying upon his representations not byu's.

I'm always glad when high profile guys take advantage to commit early and contribute to recruiting the rest of their class.
