New BYU Book

Monday I stopped at a Borders bookstore on the way home to check the liquidation deals (not too hot--half.com or Amazon are still much cheaper). While was looking for Moneyball or Boys of Summer in the sports section (20% off), I saw a BYU football helmet on the spine of a book. Turns out to be this one:

I had never heard of or seen the book, so naturally I just had to have it. It's a pretty cool concept: one of BYU's photographers/graphics guys has complied a series of essays (for lack of a better word) from past BYU greats on the topic of "What it means to be Cougar."



I'm only to the 1950s, but its amazing to read the insight and emotion from even the guys who were Cougars before football was even really cool. The book ends with Max Hall.



It's a worthy get for any BYU football fan, and you can probably find one at Borders at a bit of a discount like I did here in Denver.

Sweet find. Utah has a pamphlet, but not a publisher yet.
