Revenge Games - Opponents for future schedules

Reading the recent thread regarding Florida State's sod cemetery has reopened the wound from the 2009 game. That was probably one of the most disappointing games I can remember. The timing was perfect. We had a senior quarterback and we were playing very well. Last year's loss is understandable with all the youth we had playing. We need another shot at those guys.



Out of all the opponents we have played we have the worst overall record against FSU at 0-4. (tied with Iowa State)



There are a handful of opponents that we also have never won. I'd love to see some of these opponents on future schedules so we can have a shot at finally getting a win:



FSU 0-4 last played 2010

Alabama 0-1 last played 1998

Boise State 0-2 last played 2004 (Payne's miss still hurts. Scheduled in 2012)

Georgia 0-1 last played 1982

Indiana 0-1 last played 1979

Iowa 0-0-1 last played 1991

Iowa State 0-4 last played 1974

Kansas 0-1 last played 1992

Louisville 0-1 last played 2001

Marshall 0-1 last played 1999

Oklahoma State 0-2 last played 1976

Stanford 0-2 last played 2004 (should have won by 2...)

Texas Tech 0-1 last played 1940

USC 0-2 last played 2004



If you want some balance for the schedule games against Marshall, Indiana, Iowa State, and Louisville would be perfect to balance the tough games. Get USC on the schedule while they still have restricted scholarship levels. Kansas and Texas Tech should be winnable games most years. It'll be tough to get Alabama because I'm sure they will never agree to come to Provo. Maybe we could get the 'tide at Jerry's World.



FYI, this year is the first time we have played Ole' Miss, UCF, and New Mexico State so we better not blow it against any of those teams.

I noticed that BYUCougars.com has a list of opponents and our all time records against them. I would bet that TH or Coach M never consider our all time record when scheduling things, but when I saw our records against some of these teams, it really made we want BYU to have another shot at them soon to change the record, especially FSU and Bama

If I was them I wouldn't admit that our all-time record against an opponent provided motivation either. But behind closed doors I'd definitely be motivated by it...

And I do like the idea of revenge games. I wouldn't mind a fifth crack at the Seminoles. Of course, BYU would qualify as a revenge game for Texas.

I took it yesterday. Great quiz Loon. I got 39 of them.

I like this idea.



I would also add to the list Texas A&M and Hawaii. We can never beat them enough for what they did in 1990 (and 2001 for Hawaii)

Fun quiz. I got them all but North Texas and Arkansas State.
