Rivals football ranking countdown

I kind of hope the team has a poor pre-season ranking. Nothing like college athletes playing with a chip on their shoulder. Remember the UCLA game after the UW fiasco?

I'm glad they recognized that we will be better than a team we beat last year that has since lost their head coach and their 2 very good receivers. I really hope that Utah is ranked ahead of us so that the :utard: fans will be cocky going into the game and really let down after it. :evil:

I think that based on our 7-6 record last year we are getting quite a bit of love.



How many other teams would be ranked in the top 30 when they went 7-6 last year against a schedule that is easier than the one they have this year?



Thanks to ESPN people know how good our team should be. I'll be surprised if we crack the top 20 but after the Texas game if we are undefeated we better be in the teens.



All things will take care of themselves if we head into the UT State game undefeated.

Btw. . . I am not looking forward to this new rule, it gives too much power to the refs to potentially influence the outcome of a game. I can see the PAC refs using this to their advantage this year.

25. BYU

The Cougars finished just 7-6 last season, but they looked like a top 25 team toward the end of 2010 - and most of the players from a year ago are back.

I like the analysis. This is what most :utard:'s and MWC people aren't getting, and why so many similarly minded people think independence is going to be a flop. Last season was an aberration, and the fact that we righted the ship within the season and with so much youth is a testament to the strength of the program and its future. Texas had a similar rough patch, and it didn't go nearly as well for them.

Pretty good analysis. Honest, accurate, objective...not blue eyed homerish or "I hate BYU and they suck" like some articles I've read about the upcoming season.

I will second this here. I work with die hard ute fans and just last week I was having a converstation with them, separately, and they all think Wynn is the best QB they have had in a long time. I mentioned the utes were lucky they didn't end last year on a 6 game losing streak and got some lucky bounces in the 3 games they won. One of the guys admitted it could have been worse and blamed it on Wynn being hurt the last part of the year and therefore has high hopes for Wynn and co. One of the other ute guy I brought this up to literally jumped out of his chair, got in my face and proceeded to tell me how full of crap I was and continued with how much BYU sucks.



I just rolled my eyes and left knowing full well I will get my justice this coming year, but see what I have to put up with! :~(



edit(I guess I don't know how to spell justice when I am trying to type and talk to someone else at the same time!)

When BYU creams the :utard: this year, walk past them :utard: fans with the mostest arrogantest look on your face and look down your nose at them when you look at them AND SAY NOTHING. That gets them even madder than usual.

looks like from the rankings at the beginning of the season we don't actually have that strong of a schedule. TCU should be somewhere in the top 15 but other than that, Texas is the only other school that broke the top 25 that we play this year.



Even if we went undefeated this year, I don't think we'd get much love from the polls unless Texas and TCU win all their other games and Utah wins their division.

sdsu will suck this year. That whole team was vincent and the other receiver, forgot his name (sampson?). while they have the same quarterback people will soon realize that he was good because of those two receivers. Those guys were ridiculous. Just huck it up and they would get it.
