Becoming CougarClub member

What are benefits of the cheaper levels? Young Alumni, etc? I have little to no money, but would like to get on that gravy train. BYU keeps making impressive changes that I think deserve my monies. Most recently the website change.



I'm not expecting anything, especially from Texas, but could a young alumni donor get...a...visiting parking spot for the bowl or something?

I applaud your decision to give back to the program that has given us so much.



With that in mind, don't expect much at the levels you'll be able to give at. At best, you'll get a day or two priority to buy tickets than the non-giving person. You'll also get 1 or 2 seats at certain CougarClub lunches and such.



I have relatives that are gold members, and they barely get more than that (4 or 5 seats, and an extra day).

BYU's Young Alumni level got me on the list to get Texas tix this year.



Still don't have my membership card though.



Young Alumni is basically the same as Regular Cougar which isn't as many priority seats as Bronze.

I joined last month as well.

REgular, low level CC member here ($100). Get small sense of contribution, perhaps it helps me maintain my location in priority end zone season tickets (though I think that only applies to side seating). No parking privileges. On low end of lists for bowl game tickets. Only other thing I use is free admission for two people to CC lunches in the stadium, when they hold them during the regular school year in Provo...

That's what I figured, but you never know what goofy rules might be in place.

I haven't heard of any real benefit for being in the CC unless you're a serious big-time donor.

Well, the Texas tickets from the BYU ticket office were listed as for Cougar Club members only. Of course, anyone can get tickets from Stubhub, but if you wanted to sit in the big blue section it was helpful to be in the Club.



One of my life's goals is to become one of those crazy rich Cougar Club members. All it takes is a one-time $250,000 donation...

I am CC, and I only give $200/per, did more this year, but not crazy rich, sadly. Just helps with renewal priority for moving to better seats, access to single game tickets for all games, etc. Even so, not buying roadies to Ole Miss through BYU because plenty of Ole Miss fans are selling good ticks online.

I joined the CC this year and have not received my card or sticker yet. Roughly how long does it take to get processed? Do they still give out eh license plate frame for new members?



I gave $200 but think I will move to montly check deductions. Being on the east coast makes it tough to take full advantage of the membership - but I feel good knowing I am helping out even sitting in front of the TV watching from home.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Unless you're a big-time donor, you don't get much from it. It seems like the CC doesn't really care about the small time donors. They can't even get them stickers and license plate frames. I bet the guys who donate tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars don't wait too long for their stickers.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Unless you're a big-time donor, you don't get much from it. It seems like the CC doesn't really care about the small time donors. You have to be a BIG big time donor to get any real ticket benefits. We are Legacy II members, but we still get lousy seats to away games. We were 10 rows from the top of the Rose Bowl at UCLA, and they wanted to put us in the upper deck at Jerry's World against Oklahoma. We've stopped ordering tickets through BYU for just that reason. I'd rather have a good seat than sit with other BYU fans, so we just buy through the host school or through stub hub. We still call into the BYU ticket office to see what kind of seats we can get, but we've always been able to get better seats for about the same price, if not cheaper.

I upped to Silver this year, and got a nice BYU hat made by Nike. And no tickets bumps again this year.



When it comes to away seats, not much BYU can do really. They get stuck with visitor section seating. Always best to just buy from the home crowd if you want a good seat.



I have no idea how other schools handle their booster donations and seating, so not informed on how BYU rates vs. other schools. Probably about the same.

You're right about away games. The visiting school gets an allotment of tickets and usually they are in a remote far away place:>)



The CC offers reasonable levels for giving, various ways to contribute - both strong positives. I guess I will have to wait and see what is in the packet when my membership card arrives. I did get a helmet decal in the mail but nothing else with it. Most important aspect is giving something to the program and that's enough for me.

No worries. Tickets are about reason #4 that we pony up each year.
