Jamaal Williams Commits to BYU!

I like this kid. Fontana can be a hard place with a lot of "street thug" mentality. I like that he has a good head on his shoulder and has a feel for what is right and what is wrong. Good to see he has a good moral compass.

I just saw & read Jamaal's commit on Scout.com. I am very excited! It feels good to steal a quality athlete fro Boise St. & the Yewts. Oh yeah!!! Feels great!!!



Good things are going to happen w/ Jamaal's quick feet. He'll come out of Fontana mentally tough. Sidebar info. - it was Fontana where the Hell's Angels were founded. I also think Sammy "the Red Rocker" Hagar was raised in Fontana. Ha-ha!! Lot's of tough folks come out of Fontana!!

Just watched Jamaal's recruiting video (good post Kiwi). He has strength, patience & an extra gear. I like his running style - smart & he punishes defenders. Bam!!

Looks like a good get, and one with potential to make an early impact - if he's got a 3.4 GPA, played both sides of the ball, played in an offense that used the double wing, shotgun, and pistol sets, and did well in stopping the run, pass defense, and blitzing, he's got to have a good head on him. I think he'll adjust very quickly to the college game.

Reminds me of a solid runner like Curtis Brown. I didn't see a lot of break away, but that's never been our emphasis at BYU anyway. He will certainly be able to gash defenses like Curtis did. I didn't see many pass catches, which will likely be something he will have to incorporate into his game since we pass so much to the backs.



This is a good pick up.

He appears to have a great North-South game, and he doesn't look like he's going to spend much time dancing in the backfield ala DiLuigi. I have a feeling he could be a tremendous pick up for us. However, he's not going to make anyone miss, and he seems to lack the speed to get to the corner. Used in the right way, he could be an effective 1st and 2nd down back, as he will average 3-4 yards per carry just because he hits the hole so hard, and I doubt he'll be tackled for loss very often.
