FB and BB scheduling

Why can't we get some leaks about football scheduling? Finding out about the VT and NAU BB games is nice and all but I want the real deal. Can't wait for July 12.

I assume it is because ESPN is sending a big wig out for Media Days, and they requested that BYU sit on all of this news to put it out on one day and make a big splash with it. BYU adding a game here and there would be cool, but announcing several games vs. quality teams the same day will be enough to get some good notice and attention for a day or so. Remember all the MWC coaching crapping on the BYU Indy choice? Well, the Texas and ND games shut them up, but Media Days will be the reality check that the other MWC teams needed to be reminded of their place, and of the prominence and fan base BYU has in place.

Probably also coincide with announcement of new recruits that have committed.

Do we try to package football and basketball games together? It would be pretty cool to be playing Virginia Tech in both basketball and football with the two alternating home and away games. Or see both games on the same weekend. Play basketball on Friday night and football on Saturday. That way the visiting fans could go to both games. That worked out in Vegas a couple years ago when we were in a basketball tournament the day of the bowl game.



I wonder if Holmoe has considered making it a package deal since it seems more schools are willing to talk to us about football than they are basketball. We'll play West Virginia in a "neutral site" game that is way closer to them if they agree to a home and home basketball series...
