Trouble brews

Not really, but I got your attention didn't I? :)



Jay Drew was stiring the Josh Sharp pot just a bit, but somewhat positively because he demonstrates that BYU was clean on the accusations that the Pukes new BB coach made:

What I loved was one of the comments from the article noted below:

Wasn't that the truth!

It's only newsworthy if the player comes to BYU after a mission, not if he leaves. While it is true that more often than not it is players coming to BYU after missions than leaving, it still happens. Jake Murphey was mentioned. Of course there was Ben Olsen (probably the only one that BYU fans really got upset about). There was a lineman that went from BYU to Utah after a mission a couple years ago as well. The thing is BYU doesn't even usually put out a statement about it. The coaches don't whine about it (like Krystoviak and Brent Guy), and just move on with who shows up.



I don't think the Murphey kid is a big loss because he probably wasn't going to play with the WR's/TE's we've got in the system anyway, but that lineman that went to Utah ended up starting for them and was/is pretty good. Can't have too many lineman.

. . .and don't forget Chris Burgess, he who disappointed the apostles, prophets and 9 million members. Although he never chose BYU to begin with, the way the whole situation went down and the fact that he ended up at Puketah (via Duke), sure seemed like heresy to me.
