I think the RB recruiting philosophy has changed. Everybody says that Bronco doesn't offer until a player shows at a camp, but the only one that has shown so far (that we know of) who has been offered is Jamaal Williams.

His name is Jalen Richard from Alexandria, LA - Peabody HS. He plays several positions: DB, RB, KR, WR.



As you can see from his video clips, he is one of the Bayou State’s top running backs for 2012. He is very elusive and finds holes in the DL. Once he hits the corner or gets into the open field, he can take it to the house.

I'll be very disappointed if we lose this recruit to any of these schools. It'd be like losing a recruit to Utah State. I could understand if this kid wants to play close to home, but still we should be able to overcome LA-Monroe...

Between Williams, Richard and Marshall, that is a new approach to recruiting RBs for BYU. Just need to land 1 of those 3. We all forget that Adam Hine is back from his mish in July, and will probably redshirt for 2011, so he will be a freshman in 2012, and he was a 3/4* kid out of St. George. Depth and options are always a good thing. Especially when speed is included.

I believe what we are being exposed to is the Dupaix recruiting approach for explosive speed and elusiveness in our RB. He wants to land quick, home-run type backs that can take it to the house off of swing passes, quick slants, draw plays or the option that he ran at Navy. I love it because it will also open things up for our QB with several weapons to draw from.

Sounds like he has no chance at an offer from BYU.

ACT too low, and 2 big time programs are not recruiting him.

He has been offered by BYU. However, I understand his current/greatest interest lies with Mississippi.

He has a 3.6 GPA 22 ACT score.

He is a three start prospect who I believe has not received offers from bigger schools because of his size.

The guys on the LSU board seem to think he will get an offer there. They've missed on a couple RB already and they seem to think Jalen will get an offer before everything is done.



Hopefully BYU smokes Ole Miss and He takes the offer after the game.



The offers going out to RB (Kelvin York, Hanbrough, Marshall and now Richard) make me think Bronco is letting Dupaix experiment with a new recruiting philosophy. I think it will work out incredibly well and in the future we'll see a lot more guys from the south who have the same values but aren't members getting offers before they come to camp.



Oh and as far as the ACT goes all he has to do is take a class and it will jump 4 points.

We should probably have Hawking move this to recruiting section.

Latest information from BYU.Scout indicates that BYU is in his top 3 and he likes what the school has to offer. If he is as good as published, he will have an opportunity to contribute immediately.
