Sawyer Powell - LB - Class of 2012 -- VERBAL

Sawyer Powell (LB - 6'2" and 205lbs) from Richland HS in WA - appears to have Y high on his list. He recored over one hundred tackles his Jr season.



Has been offered By Washington State, Oregon St. BYU



Had the 7th best Sparq rating in the nation of any linebacker. He recorded a 124.44 overall, . 4.57 forty, 4.25 shuttle, 38 powerball and 43.2 inch vertical in the final Nike Combine of the year and the next day was named Co MVP of the Oregon NFTC.

Not too shabby.

I think he was number one among all linebackers and number seven nationwide among all who tested.

Looks solid. And those numbers are incredible.

He just completed the Oregon State camp and received an offer. In the coming weeks he will be attending the U camp, Boise State camp with his HS team (4 days), and finish up at the BYU camp. Although he really wants to play for BYU, he is happy with the OSU offer. Apparently the BYU coaching staff would like him to come to BYU camp, and they are just waiting for him to attend so that they can offer him a schollie.

I suspect he will be a 3* by summers end, and will have a BYU offer.



Interesting how some kids get early pub, but other spring up late, and could be even better. Recruiting is a crazy business. Sounds like a great athlete. If he has heart and instinct, BYU will offer him for sure. We need another OLB prospect in this class.

Still no word on if he has an offer yet, but I suspect will will know soon. Camp ends tomorrow, so if he leaves with no offer, I assume he will not get one. I suspect he will though. Sounds like a real athlete.
