Could it get worse for Tressel and tOSU? Yes, yes it can!

If Tressel keep his job after this, it will be a miracle. If the AD keeps his job as well, a bigger miracle. The words "lack of institutional control" reverberate loudly today. Check this:



Former Buckeye WR Ray Small(2006-10) admitted to the tOSU school paper that he sold his Big X Champ rings for money. Said he had 4, so not a big deal to him. Said he needed pocket money, and to pay his car payment, so it was a no brainer. Admitted that the best deals for players came from car dealers. Former hoops player Mark Titus said it was obvious that the football team were getting deals to everyone on campus because they all rode around in sweet rides.



The NCAA is going to pile drive tOSU, worse than what USC got. The case is way too easy to make now, and more widespread than just one or 2 guys like at USC. No direct player payments alleged--yet--but improper benefits are basically there and more widespread than thought.

OSU is going down. They are going to get hit hard for this. the NCAA is in a position where they have to appear that they are tough. Expect OSU to be made an example of.

I have a co-worker who is a Ute ticket holder, but a UMiami fan. Not from Utah originally, obviously, a convert, so not a BYU hater fan. He has a bro-in law that works in the U AD in compliance. Rumor is, there are 300+ of those sweet cars deals that occurred over the last 5 years or so. If that is true, not sure how tOSU could NOT see it happening when poor kids pull up to practice in pimped out Chrysler 300's. I expect tOSU to get killed by this. Tressel will have to resign, and the AD might have to as well.

The ncaa tried and a SC accepted. OS just needs to bribe the right guy or roll over without a fight. I believe the majority of BcS schools are dirty, and the ncaa is dirty too. However Playing a depleted OS at LES would be fun

I do not believe that the NCAA is dirty, per se. Not as an institution. I just think that they are ill-equipped to handle all the investigation and enforcement issues that come their way. They are basically underfunded to do the job, and with the $$ they get in from the NCAA hoops tourney, they could easily add 6-8 compliance officers and a larger budget. But much like the IRS, that all really depends on the party in power to see how their budgets get handled. The NCAA $$$ comes from member schools who do not exactly all want the NCAA to have more investigative authority, do they.

So did the car dealer really think other peoples' rings were that valuable, or was it just a way to skirt around direct payments. And what would you do with 300 championship rings?

What is this incessant attack on the Buckeyes? Like any of you think they are dirtier than any of the other teams on their level? When direct violation of rules are found, I have no problem with the axe falling and heads rolling, but it just seems like everyone believes that OSU is the anomaly and needs to be dealt with so harshly as though if there are players at OSU driving around in cars that don't belong to them, we believe that doesn't happen at Alabama, Texas or LSU. It doesn't make it right, but it's like people can only keep pointing at OSU as though everyone else is any cleaner. I have no proof one way or the other, but that doesn't give my mind the latitude to believe they are any more dirtier.

Here is THE problem with THE OSU: They are overrated every year, they insist on the THE in their name (pompous, arrogant, etc), their AD (or was it their president?) is a BCS elitist asshole, they get chance after chance in BCS games and always underachieve, they're not smart enough to not get caught, Tressel (who once seemed decent) has revealed himself to be a slimy snake who talks like a politician and whose "apologies" are pure garbage, Brutus looks like a piece of crap with corn sticking out, they use phrases like "more dirtier" and still claim to be academic elitists, they basically represent everything that's wrong with college football...

Incessant attack? Hardly. Just pointing out the obvious, and now the logical has happened. Tressel had to go. The AD ought to be next. The mess there is too widespread to be ignored, much like what Auburn had going on last year will not be ignored either. Big name schools, who already have major advantages going for them, should not be pulling garbage like this. Stuff happens, I know. Little violations at every school. So self report them and deal with it instead of pulling a cover up. Cover ups tend to draw more attention and mushroom. Not sure how any coaching staff could ignore many poor players driving around in sweet rides.
