There should be more and more analysis rolling in now that the Combine has been over for 2 hours or so.

Nice to see Leonard and Thomas from SDSU giving Jimmer props--they told Chad Ford they'd rather guard Kemba than Jimmer any day.

There were some nice things said about Jimmer but Leonard and Thomas's comments kind of stood out for 2 reasons. The obvious and that they are good sports. I say good luck to all 3 of them.

It was special to see those comments from the two Aztecs. I see that Jimmer's father think that his going to the NY Knicks would be a match made in heaven. I imagine it would be for the family back home. As I've stated, I'd rather see Jimmer go to a good opportunity than to go earlier in the draft. Not as much money with each rung you fall, but overall satisfaction for opportunity to actually fit will cannot be overlooked.

ESPN isn't showing enough of the actual combine footage. Too many interviews and talking heads about who is there. I think a lot of what people think about Jimmer is based what they hear people say and not what they see.



If today's reports are true that some GMs think Jimmer was taking it too easy yesterday then they're really trying to find reasons to not like him.

Or trying to make it seem like they don't like him. The things that come out of team executives' mouths leading up to the draft, in any sport, shouldn't be trusted. They play mind games to preserve their draft strategy.

Yeah, the footage is downright awful. Why do they spend so much time filming the commentators? Nobody is tuning in to see watch them.



Even when they do show a player, most of the time they zoom so close that you can't even see the players shot. I was pretty disappointed

I've been looking all over for a decent recap of the combine to no avail. I know the NBA combine isn't like the NFL combine, but still. Very lame. Everything I've come across is no more than a paragraph or two.



I think Jimmer is banking on his 1:1 workouts with teams. In his 1:1 workouts where it really matters he'll go full throttle. I do think there is some chess playing that's going on with the scouts and GMs.



In the past there have been many top recruits that simply skipped the combine because they felt no need to go to it. The players at the combine hardly even play each other. Would be awesome if there were some 5 on 5 games set up. Mix up the teams every day and really see what the players can do against "top" talent.



Found it funny that without shoes Kemba measured under 6 feet.

It's kind of sad that the most detailed review (that is, the one with the most stats, etc.) comes from the campus daily rag AKA Daily Universe:

Jimmer with the 3rd best Lane Agility and 2nd best Modified Lane Agility. Faster/Quicker than Brandon Knight and Kemba Walker - both of whom are "supposedly" better athletes than Jimmer.



Oh and Jimmer benched 185 lbs 11 times more than Kwahi Leonard's three times.



I know these "skills" may not be true basketball skills, but hopefully it will shut people up about Jimmer being slow, unathletic and not ready for the NBA game.

well, his uncle/trainer seemed VERY confident that Jimmer would impress. Looks like he's done just that. I agree spiff, benchpress and lane agility tests may not tell the whole story, but there's got to be some reason to run these kids through these drills, right?

What about this measurable: Vertical.



Jimmer did 33", not nearly as good as Kemba's 39.5", but better than Kawhi's 32". Not bad...for a white boy.

I was just checking out the all time measurements and found some interesting things.



I thinks its crazy that some of these elite athletes that have been drafted can't even bench 185 once. 185 isn't very much, even for an average Joe who works out fairly regularly. Of course, Kevin Durant proved benching 185 doesn't mean much.



Kawhi Leonard has the third widest hands in the history of the combine



Shaq posted the all time best max vert reach at 12' 5". Dude was 303 lbs and had a 36" vert. I wonder what his measurements are now? :lol:

what's interesting too is by some scouts' accounts Jimmer appeared to be cruising through the drills and didn't seem to be "trying" as hard as everyone else; yet, still he posts some of the best numbers.

He was makin it look too easy, just like he does in gametime situations.



I go to basketball on Wednesdays thinking I'll try some of his moves. It's not pretty.
