1st place: Heaps - 64.2%

As of right now, it is Luck, then Jake. Luck proved it last year, just as I hope Jake will this year.

If Jake makes his goals he will easily win the heisman.



Research Question: BYU QBs are awesome, and will our QB carry on in 2011?

Hypothesis 1:Will Jake pass for 4000 yards, and 35 TDs?

If Jake performs as well as Luck did in 2010, I will be pumped. Luck would have been #1 in the 2011 draft, and will be in 2012, barring major injury. Really does not get better than that, Heisman or no Heisman. It means you have a player that performs, and has a huge upside as well. Stanford had an amazing year at 12-1, with a BCS win. I'd take that in a second right now.

Heaps is going to be a stud this year. I was talking with one of the tight ends Dad's recently. He told me how excited his son the rest of the TE and Receivers are this year. If the offense shapes up the way that it is suppose to, we will see near 4000 yards and 30 plus touchdowns out of Heaps. Going more pro-style under Doman will make our running game more effective, which will obviously open up the play action and the whole passing game. We have some big boys up front that are experienced and are going to give the time needed for Heaps to pick apart the defenses. Plus with our big athletic receivers our play calling will definately be different than in the past.

The whole Doman play calling thing brings up an interesting discussion. I thought that Coach Anae did a great job of game planning for an opponent. His game plans buried weak teams, and BYU typically played well early in games against strong teams. Where I had issues with him was his inability to adjust when needed. Adjustments in tight games or crucial situations will be key. The NFL is all about adjustments, and I think Doman's experience, even though short lived, will help us. I also think the pro style offense gives us more flexibility to adjust to game conditions. For BYU to have a great year, it will be the little things that matter most.
