BYU State of the Union

Is anyone besides me bored to tears every time that Tom Holmoe speaks in a press confrence. I know I'm being very general, but he often says a lot about nothing.



What I learned this time....



1. He apparently already has two teams nailed down for the 2012 season that he is not currently makeing public.

I guess there was no #2 and beyond because everything else he said was already said and common knowledge. I guess I don't know what more I expect him to say because he doesn't speculate whatsoever and probably shouldn't, but my point is that it is probably a waste of time to even cover such a session.

I get your point if TH called the press conference to announce something and didn't really announce anything new. However, I believe the reason for yesterday's sit down with the press was instead of conducting individual sessions with all the media reps that have been calling him he decided to get them all together and answer their questions all at once. Sounded like a smart thing to do even if he didn't announce anything new.

Blame the press, they all want a story, whether there is a story or not, so they ask a lot of dumb questions, and get a lot of dumb answers. I wouldn't blame Holmoe.

I don't blame TH, I just think it has gotten pretty lame to have these state of the program interviews as very rarely does TH ever tell anything. It seems lame to go over nothing and take all the time and energy to do it.



Besides, at least sometimes whining is better than not reading anything on here these days.
