Harbingers of Independence

Thought it would be fun to start collecting the "tender mercies" of BYU going independent. Feel free to add your own:



Today I noticed that BYU's Sept 2 game against Ole Miss was not coming up on my Droid ESPN "Scorecenter" App. I then realized that I was looking in the NCAAF--MWC pane and I had to add the NCAAF--IA Independents pane and voila!! I now have BYU's first two games in Scorecenter and I don't have to look at SDSU and UNM scores when I pull it up!

My favorite ritual of the offseason has been removing the MWC from the Facebook favorite pages.



I'm still looking for "least favorite" page on facebook. I'll let you know.

Even the most isolated sports writer for the littlest newspaper will know that we no longer play in the WAC. ;)

Today while walking from class I passed an interesting garbage can outside of the Smith Field House. It was right next to where the HD Truck is currently parked. Falling out of the trash can was a stack of MTN hats.. a couple of them were blowing along the ground. The hats all looked new, but not even poor college students seemed interested in picking one of the never worn hats up.

I'd have grabbed a handful. After the MTn bites the dust those hats could be worth something for BYU folks interested in a piece of BYU's history. eh, maybe not.

I sent an email to the mtn asking them to remove pictures from the friday night show in the stadium of my family...I have yet to hear a response.

I am pumped to be able to watch the games on TV!...not justintv.
