Montana is Better than Heaps

or so Washington tried to make us believe. If that is true then why couldn't montana manage to get the starting nod. Looks like Montana may get a shot when he is a senior to play... may.

You know this is just because Sark has some pathological need to player older players than younger ones, despite it being OBVIOUS that Montana has a better football pedigree.

Y'all just don't get what it's all about being a BCS team. They are just so much deeper than a team like BYU so freshman rarely, if ever, play. They just aren't needed like the wunderkin Heapsy, Hoffman, Van Noy, et al were needed here at BYU. They're just on such a different sphere up there at UDumb and their 3 deep is better than our starters.

Are there two Montana kids currently running around college football? I hear about Montana at Washington and at Notre Dame...did he transfer to UW or are there two?

There are 2. The younger of the 2 is supposed to be the best. He is the one at UW. And let's not forget he is a redshirt frosh. Most schools do not play them. But if he is not playing by junior year, safe to say was a miss.

Well, Jake is starting as a true freshman and my guess is that he would be starting as a red shirt freshman at washington this year if he were going up against montana's competition. I obviously can't prove that.

Montana is still learning the ropes. A bit surprising cmnsidering his pedigree. He is not nearly as good as Heaps at this point in his career. Maybe he will be a late bloomer.

That never hurts. I think you are on to something. Actually, in Montana's case, I have not heard rumblings about entitlement or not working hard enough. I have just heard rumblings that he has been a little slow to catch onto things - that is a bit surprising given his background. I have not heard any rumblings about him not having the arm - just taking timne to grasp everything. But he is a red-shirt freshman. This is not unusual for a red-shirt freshman. And, Montana was not hyped all that much when he graduated. So, although some UW fans posted that they thought they got the better guy, most independent sources did not view it that way. Don't throw Montana under the buss quite yet - but he has a lot of development still needed. iirc, John Elway was a slow learner too. Not saying Montana will be a John Elway or a Joe Montana. Jury is still out - I expect him to contribure but not be a franchise NFL type guy based on what I am hearing.
